looking for an OBD2 scanner

Guys

I'm looking for an OBD2 scanner for my car that will read and erase codes. nothing fancy or expensive and simple that I can keep in the car. If you know of one that will work on our cars please feel free to comment.

Thank you

Buy a Bluetooth OBD II adapter and download the Torque app. Problem solved. 30 bucks out the door.

I have a ScanTool 423001, $25. It connects to a PC (like a laptop) via USB and comes with the software to read codes / other stuff. Torque is good, but is only for android.

If you use a iPhone you need the wifi OBD reader. The Bluetooth readers do not work with IOS.
Been there.....

FYI... below are the OBD-II generic communication protocols used by MB in each model year:

1996: ISO 9141
1997: ISO 9141
1998: ISO 9141
1999: ISO 9141
2000: ISO 9141 & ISO 14230-4
2001: ISO 9141 & ISO 14230-4
2002: ISO 9141 & ISO 14230-4
2003: ISO 14230-4
2004: ISO 14230-4
2005: ISO 14230-4 & ISO 15765-4
2006: ISO 14230-4 & ISO 15765-4
2007: ISO 14230-4 & ISO 15765-4
2008: ISO 15765-4 (Accoding to Legislation)

If i am not wrong, Torque pro cannot work with IOS??? There are several apps in the free download link, I did see there is another DashCommand app for IOS, but my phone is Android based

ops, wifi OBD scanner in the same dealer charges $6 more than bluetooth one, and total 15$ with free DashComand app

Hmm, I'll try out the scanner I used to use on my Focus RS.

Here's a question. Where is the OBD port on the C63 !

By law, the obd port has to be within arm's reach of the driver. MB is cool and puts them right under the steering column. I hear Volvo puts them in the center console under a tray you have to remove. I think this may mean that volvo is of the opinion nothing will ever go wrong with the emissions system!

Dash Comand App

Hi Folks,
I recently bought an OBD-II wifi module and Dash Comand App. Manged to get a wide open throttle run in second gear and was able to view the log.

My query is that my car (W211 E55) is modded and wondered if the DashComand would actually read the true engine power and torque or just what it should be as std.

Rgds
