Hi Guys,

I have driven 3 other Mercedes cars recently, CLA, B series and an A series and all of them had the red distance warning appear when to close to the car in front.
On my C63 I can see the warning but it has never come on.
Is it not availalbe on the C63?
Its in the owners manual but doesnt mention its not available to the AMG.

Mine comes on somewhat frequently. Might have been an option. Try braking late behind someone at a stop light and see if it comes on. Not sure if theres a way to turn it off but maybe it is for you?

Distronic was not available on any of the pre-facelift cars. It was an option on the 2012+ C63 but not many were equipped with it. Are you sure that yours has it? If you do not have the Flat Grille Star, you definitely don't have it.

Mine doesnt have Distronic but neither has any of the other Mercedes I drove but they all have this warning. Was this function on the C Class only available with distronic?

Do you mean the parking sensors?

i think he means the pre-safe braking? it requires distronic from my understanding and it must be turned on under the distronic menu.

Hi Guys,

On A Class, B Class and CLA, you dont need Distronic for this as the last three cars I have drove had the function of the distance alert but didnt have Distronic.
I guess the C Class is the only one that has to have Distronic?

If you were seeing distance alerts on cars without Distronic, then you must have been in cars with Parktronic. Parktronic is pretty rare on the C63.

The A class I am using at the moment doesnt have parking sensors, or a rear camera, nothing but still has the warning

I've had the warning come on several times once or twice had it auto braking hard for me/my wife (coming up on a 30-40MPH car doing triple digits).

Of course I have Driver Assistant Package with Distronic Plus.

You should be able to turn it on/off from the car settings. I installed a backup camera on my CLA and it beeps when i get close to an object. i guess its only audio. got it from eBay with the company Emerald integrations. Works perfectly.

C63s have the 220 Parktronic option. mine is the 2011 pre-facelift and it comes equipped with a camera as well, is the button on top of the HVAC unit off..? Do you have the bar on top of your dash in the front, or the top in the rear..?

Perhaps true in Canada, but not so in the states.
