Pass inspection with catless LTH
Went to a car gathering this evening, roughly 3-400 cars, all sorts. Then I was just really diving into the C63 and driving the hell out of it / loving it all night. But something was missing. It's loud and angry with secondary cat delete already in place, but I need more.
So, is there anyone out there that has SUCCESSFULLY passed an OBDII inspection with catless long tubes?
Gents, been here a while. Please save the "I have this or that and passed." I'm in NY so the sniffer does not matter. I also have good friends in many places that work at shops and will get me through the visual inspection.
I strictly just need to know if anyone has had monitors set to ready with catless LTH's...
For the tuners who may see this (cough cough Eurocharged cough)... I'd love to see if we couldn't find a way to get the monitors to set to ready through tuning. This has been done on other platforms so there just has to be a way, no?
Anywho, just me dreaming over here.

This question has come up before (Catless LTH and pass inspection) and never really has a definitive answer and how-to's. At the very least, I aim to lay this topic to rest with a firm yes it can be done or hard no, it cannot.

I will call and ask. I'd like to be safe and have all of them set. However, I have passed before with 1 not ready. I think it depends on year and such, but I shall call and see what it really comes down to.

Why not have one set you leave in for inspection and another that you just let go?
Also, what is your tuning situation? Stock map for inspection?

not a bad idea.
some tunes need to be adjusted mine rite now hasn't been and the monitors are turning on. so this is good. if 1 or 2 monitors turn on the tunes good to go you just have to drive alot to turn on all the sensors minus 1 the cats bc thats turn off on your ecu that will never turn on.

Doesn't cali have the sniffer?
You'd probably fail the sniffer.

My car passed in MA. All monitors are good and the car has a tune. I actually have a bluetooth ODBII tool and check the monitors with my tablet every now and then.

Just get it tuned after installing your LTH - w/o cats.
The tuner should know to turn off the emission codes and you'll be fine. I've done this to all my cars with no cats and they all pass.

Check your laws. Mine is due in 2 or 3 weeks and I am still getting secondary air injection failure. MD apparently allows for you to get an exception (need emissions to renew registration) if you spend a certain dollar amount (someone said $300, not sure if that is valid), and you fail three times. Basically, you are showing you tried, but the cost to get it to pass would be an undue burden, and they let you fail it and still renew registration.

Turning off the rear o2s will not pass obdii inspection. The car will show 2 not readies and you will fail your inspection.

^ Right. But will each primary o2 sensor be its own monitor? Or are both o2 sensors on the same emissions monitor?
