C63's representing at WannaGoFast 1/2 mile shootout - Virginia 2015!

Hey all,
The C63's represented well at the WannaGoFast 1/2 mile drag shootout in Hot Springs VA over this past weekend! Myself (white 507) and a white Black Series (Weistec Stage 2) ran at the event along with 125 other speed monsters! The event was fun. I ran a 141.68mph for my best time at 3700 feet elevation. We were sky high....literally...lol. DA was over 5000. I'll post more pics and videos when they came in. The C63's were some of the crowd favorites!!

Nice! My buddy was there in his Sakhir Orange M3 and his 135i with a plate that read "AMG KLLR." My other friends included the boosted S52 e39 M5 and the white e90 335d. Wish I could have made it but I was busy that weekend.

Yeah I saw some of them. I'll see if I can find pics of them as well. I remember that 135i being fairly fast, if I recall. I never got to go head to head with the BMWs unfortunately.

I have a few. I threw MBH Headers on it with the mids/high flow cats followed up with a Eurocharged V5 tune. Those two mods definitely woke the 507 up for sure! I was also running drag radial Hoosiers at this event, and everybody seemed to love them...lol, especially the kids. They hooked just great and did there job. I was impressed honestly with the car as a whole.

That's awesome! Nice trap Your car looks amazing.

Any idea what the white BS was trapping?

I took our supercharged 507 out to shift-s3ctor and it did 155mph all day long. Was definitely a fun car to have on the strip.

Thanks for the compliment!

The BS couldn't hook for anything. Nice guy, awesome car! I think he could only pull a 146mph, which was low. It had a lot more in it for sure. He had street tires and the strip was not prepped. Some drag radials and he is in business.

Yeah I was happy with the 141mph with just headers and a tune. The elevation killed us all, but hey, it was still fun!

That's all that matters! Good weather, good times, good people, nothing breaks. That's a good day of racing.

Those hoosiers look so nice back there

Exactly! Yeah it's always been a bucket list item to own a car with Hoosier tires and the lettering on the outside. Check!

I was there on Sunday with my Yellow Mazda RX-7. I saw your car but didn't get a chance to stop by and say hello before I saw you pulling out with the trailer. Great trap speed! I ran 133 mph for my best on my first run despite blowing the launch, spinning the tires (over inflated and cold), and missing 3rd gear. My later runs went slower because the turbos and inter-cooler were heat soaked.

Ah nice, right on! It was a great time. Are you headed out there next year if they have it? I'm thinking of going again.

If they have one closer than 4 hours drive I may go spectate. My RX-7 isn't much for drag racing with the track suspension. I just wanted to see what the new motor would do and compare to the old motor. My biggest enjoyment came from racing a stock C5 'Vette. He launched better the first time and put 1-2 car lengths on me before I reeled him in and passed him by the end. The second time against him I got out in front to start and pulled away easy. So I figure my 7 is now a mid-12 1/4 mile car which is 1s faster than it was before the motor and 1.5s better than stock.

I don't plan to ever race the C63 since I don't want to rag on my daily driver.

I just parked my 93 RX-7, debating on what to do with it. Needs a rebuild vs. LS1 swap.

Enjoying the C63.

I'm a bit of a purist. If you're thinking LS1, IMO just sell the car to someone who wants to rebuild it as a rotary.

Glad you are enjoying the C63. Probably a better straight-line car than the 7.

Being a purist having had the RX-7 for decades I agree on the rotary. But the sound of the V8 has become intoxicating.

Currently running a GT35 in the FD, running at 24 psi . Enjoy how it still looks relevant despite being 22 years old. The A/C still blows cold air Similar in power to the C63 but weights just 2800 lbs
