my thoughts on the c63 so far
so i picked up a my13 c63 estate a few days ago, it had 7500km on it, the previous owner bought it new and was an ex pat londoner, living in sydney. he spent half his time in london and the other half in sydney, the first year he put 3500km, and the next year he put about 4k km on it.
it is optioned up with nearly everything from that year, lane assist, blind spot, performance pack, 19" black multi spokes, etc.
the first thing i noticed was how physically small the car is compared to my brothers b8 audi rs4. i have driven the rs4 for an extended period when my brother was away, and got used to the rs4, its a nice car.
the c63 is not only smaller outside, but also inside. the drivers seat feels like u are cocooned in it. im not large, 180cm, 82kg, but it feels more restrictive than my previous car which was a mk6 golf gti.
next, the feel of the car. the overall suspension is stiff, ive grown up driving japanese turbos, wrx, evo, s2000, bconversion civics, and it feels as teeth chattering hard as those cars. whereas the rs4 when set on comfort is soft, like a luxury car, almost a8 like i guess.
its unfortunate that the c63 doesnt have suspension settings like the rs4.
also, the steering is heavy, like the rs4 when set on dynamic. and the throttle response is also aggressive, even on comfort mode, compared to the rs4.
the car does feel planted, i drive it to and from work, and i chose the estate due to its practicality, i could have bought any other station wagon, but i like cars and this was a case of killing 2 birds with 1 stone. i dont race the car, and i drive in sydney traffic, its not bumper to bumper all the time, weekends are open, but i probably dont utilise the cars full potential. kind of sad really.
im interested to see what fuel economy i can get, not that i expect it to be great, but i want to see if its as bad as people make it out to be
overall, im happy with the car, it makes the driver feel special as its a unique and somewhat rare car that ill enjoy for the next few years

Most would consider heavy steering, sharp throttle response, and a firm suspension as blessings on a car like this. These attributes are indicators of "sportiness."
I find C to be a very smooth/comfortable automatic shifting program. Car starts off in 2nd gear.
In time, you'll learn the "sharpness" of this car. Enjoy.

I also a 2013 Estate with Performance Pack. Long term average consumption (according to dash) is 15L/100km. 1 track session (where I saw 30L/100km), otherwise mostly trips around Sydney (about half at peak times) and the rest shortish country trips.
I suspect the PP optioned cars use slightly more fuel, and the Estates slightly more again (I think they are about 70kg heavier).
If you in Sydney I will look out for you., there are not that many Estates around.

manufacturer states 12.1l for sedan, 12.3l for estate, not sure what pp adds.
im mainly on the nrothern beaches and drive through to the ryde area.
im on the road fairly regularly. i see a few coupes and sedans, never estates

hmm, i assume you ahvent experienced the b8 audi rs4. comfort mode on that is super intuitive, doesnt seem to search for gears and is what i consider to be ultra smooth. dynamic mode in the rs4 is when it starts to get unbearably uncomfortable.
either way, the auto transmission isnt what i would call a letdown, but its what i have long suspected of automatic cars. it doesnt hold a candle to the driving experience of a manual car. something that ive driven most of my life. but it is what it is. i cant do much about it now

Congrats on the car! Love the estate. If you ever see a 507 coupe around north Sydney area be sure to say g'day! I'm also around the beaches area a fair bit.
We should have a Sydney 63 meet! Who's in lol? Moe
