True Redline?
Happy Monday to one and all! Last Saturday at work during my break I was looking up reviews on the 2015 AMG C 63 and in the comment section it was noted that the article said the new model redlined 1k rpm lower than the W204 (8k vs 7k). Someone corrected that by stating that the W204 redlines at 7.1k and someone else corrected that with the 7.2k redline. Then it got interesting as someone else wrote that according to their tests the true redline of the W204 is a little more than 6.6k rpm and that the tachometer hitting 7.2k rpm is wishful thinking by Mercedes Benz. I guess they used a special "truthometer" and "dynarightometer" to get the "true" redline of the W204 engine. Now, I can't imagine MB advertising false data as to the capabilities of the big 6.2L engine in our C63. I know that some of you are very well versed in this engine and would know more than I do about this so what say you?

I believe the redline is 7.3k or 7.4k.
If you switch to manual and force the car not to up shift while you should have, then you may get it passed the redline.

I think I read somewhere that redline depends on what gear you are in. I'm thinking 7,200 in M and S+, and either 7,000 or 7,100 in C and S. Can anyone confirm?
