Lower door Lights

Hi Guys,

I have a 2013 C63 (W204) and the lower door lights do not illuminate, no wirring I guess.
I am thinking of wiring them, buying led lamps obviously, where is the best place to pick up the illumination wiring? Is there a control module I can go to or piggy back off the seat adjustment switch illumination?

Have you taken the lens off to verify that the bulbs are not blown?

try to investigate more before you go adding wires or something. that is standard and they all should light up. might be as simple as a blown fuse.

I have a 2012 coupe. There is a red plastic lens on both doors but nothing lights up when the door is opened. I've gone into settings and tried turning the "surround" lighting on and off, but still no lighting on the doors.

Do we have any 2012+ cars out there with lights?

that red light is to warn others that the door is ajar, at the same time has a light pointed down the floor as a courtesy light for when you go in and out of the car. you wont see this light up at daytime but should be noticeable at night time.

Pulled off the lamps today, drivers side and passenger side, no bulbs, no wiring etc so 2013 model doesnt have them. Gues its time to run wires in from interior lights.

If wanting to convert, I would tie the wire into the door switches. That way they only come on when the doors are open.

For those that do not have these functioning lights, are your cars equipped with the lighting package?

Mine DOES have the lighting package (bi-xenon, etc) but does not have the lower door lights. Mine is a US model, the-big-1 is I think a UK car. Both are 2012+.

Again, are there any 2012+ owners out there that DO have working lower door lights?

Mine does. Not sure what option it is though. I do have the Premium Package and it is a Canadian car.

Can you explain how you pulled the old reflector lights off. I want to replace mine and I do not want to break them when I take them off Thanks.

It was easy, I used just my hands. Pulled the lamp downwards and towards you at the same time.
