I need an answer ASAP

Hello everyone,
I am having an almost impossible choice between
New c63 AMG standard 469HP
Or
C63 507 edition 2014

the dealer offered me the 507
With the same price of the new C63

Please give ur opinion including
Good and Bad stuff about both

Thanks

Nothing bad about either. I'd go with the w205 c63 though (the new model). Just going to be a monster once tuning, downpipes, and such come out.

The only risk with the new model is you may have to deal with new model year issues (which will more than likely be covered under warranty and recalls).

As for looks, thats personal preference. People rave about that new interior though.

Some are going to say the 507 sounds better. Again, personal preference but the w205 definitely has a great sound to it as well.

well the new motor will spit out mega HP and TQ with a tune , a guy on the W205 forum has the C63s 2015 and claims 469 rwhp stock?? which is a whopping 586 hp at the crank??? its got killer interior but an *** only a mother could love.(I feel) horrific rear end styling ...don't let anyone sway you , only you can decide what's right for you! me I love the old skool tuffness of the 507......but TT V8 are killer street cars , effortless TQ

It depends on what you are looking for for. A 507 or any previous C63 before the New 2015 C63 for that matter is a great car because it is all motor, it has instant throttle response and has a decent amount of power left not he table with just a tune and bolt ons.

Keep in mind a 507 model basically has a small factory tune to make the extra power instead of the 450hp found in a regular C63 then a number of other mods besides the power such as the wheels, badging and interior accents ect. But if you do any aftermarket tune it wipes out the extra 57hp and then you are starting from the 450hp mark and up for mods and tuning. Just out of curiosity ask the dealer how much they would sell you a regular 2014 C63 for, that's if you aren't against modifying the car. I bet for the money you could save you could build one heck of a monster all customer to your liking and everything picked out by you.

Now like PurpleHeart said the New C63 has just come out and they already have force induction enhanced motors. It's a great car, personally I'm kinda puzzled why they didn't up the power from the factory, when they have so much potential on hand. The tuning possibilities will be growing big time as time passes. Also the previous model will I'm sure take at least a small resale value hit because of the new model. A turbocharged car has lots of tuning potential especially if Mercedes did on the New C63 what they did with the 2014 and older models in terms of having them almost detuned for emissions and so more expensive 6.3L models didn't have less power or weren't too much slower.

However like some M4 reviews I've heard, some turbo cars can be tricky and some can difficult to drive. Because you go from very little power to almost full power almost instantly. Now I'm certainly not saying that is the case with the new C63 but in some cars even the new M4 it has been given poor reviews saying people liked the old M3 better. The best turbo car I have ever owned even though more expensive was a GTR, the car was an absolute amazing machine. I would drive both, if you can't talk to and owners of 2015's try to find one or ones who have owned both before.

Post this same thread in the W205 section (the 2015 C63). That way they can tell you if there is any lag or any issue downshifting, ask them how the engine responds under different driving conditions. If they could change a few things and thing about the car what would it be. This would be the most important thing to do, that way you at least either know if you do buy the car what you would need to mod to change the car to make it drive to your liking if there was anything you didn't like. Find someone who is past break in and who has driven theirs hard. You don't wan't to drive a new low mile motor hard before proper Mercedes break in, or ask the dealer to help you find one of their service customers to talk with.

It's nice to have a reasonable high HP car that is all motor as one of my daily drivers. It just depends on your plans with the car, are you going to keep it stock, daily drive it, drive it hard, track days? If you can elaborate it will be easier for us to help you.

507 hands down.

The W205 model looks weak, not aggressive at all, made to look like the child of the E and S class. You can also add in the ugly Ipad screen they decided to go with, the rest of the interior is nice; I'll give them that. As for the engine, I haven't researched it. But for looks alone I would pick the 507.

The NA 6.2 V8, is supreme. It's too bad they decided to go green. Untill they give a nice face lift for the new W205, I will stand by the W204 =)

...kind of a big thing you're missing. It puts down as much whp in stock form as a w204 with a tune and headers. Go to the w205 section, someone has their graph in there at 479whp and 487wtq... stock. And 265's.

Appearance items are personal taste. I'd drive the w205 because each time I raced a w204 they'd be looking at my ***.

Looks are personal taste, I don't like the rearend but I do like the front. Overall I don't think I think I like it more thank my w204 but my w204 is modded so it's not a fair looks comparison.

But Power was Eurocharged they dynoed at 467rwhp and 489rwtq (no headers needed to get that hp on a w204) but also understand they weighed the car and it came in with a pano and a full tank of gas over 4000lbs. So it's all about drive ability and they have taken the car apart and have new turbos and other mods for the car. So power I don't think will be an issue if you are going to mod the car. But I'm curious how the car drives overall even just stock.

I much prefer the exterior looks of the w204 and love the 507 edition...but you can't discount what the w205 appears to be capable of and it has a great interior much more luxurious than any C class i've seen before.

Looks alone i'd go the w204 but if you want the power go w205, if it were me i'd try and haggle that 507's price down more because even the non S w205 models are priced kinda high.

TBH I wouldnt get either.

I would get W205 Sedan over W204 507 Sedan. But not the 507 Coupe.

In the end is the M3/M4 on the table? My brother's is tons of fun and I feel the new W205 lacks the harshness of the previous AMGs and the new M cars.

it's really not bad at all.
I'm in a w205 c300 loaner right now and it's really easy to get used to and frees up a lot of center console room

While i prefer the looks of a standard mounted gear selector it's really not as bad as I thought it would be

What is the price difference??
A well optioned new 507 used to be in the upper $80k. The new W205 base C63 is around $70k
So yeah you might think you are getting a good deal on the 507 but that car will depreciate a lot quicker. If you really want a 507 go for a barely used one not a new. If you want the fresher look go for the W205. GL

I would get the 507 (if sedan). I personally don't like the looks of the new C63. But like everyone else mentioned, the power will be crazy in the new w205.

Go with what you think is the best and will make you the happiest.

On paper the W205 wins.

In the flesh the W204 reigns supreme.

2009 Barolo red C63 AMG (SOLD).13' P31 c63 coupe 2012 porsche panamera
I sold me 2013 coupe. I test drove everything in my price range. I've owned a pre facelift 2009 also and considered the w205/m4. The m4 was fun to drive, but couldn't justify the purchase when blondes around my area were driving around in new m4's lol. Don't get a w204, your car will feel outdated when you see the 205's rolling around. I ended up with a 2015 Gtr, 0 miles on the dash for 92 out the door. If that's an option for you, a barley used 2014/15 Gtr can be bought for 86k with less than 2000 miles. The incentives on the gtrs are insane at the moment.

This is very true, if mine was a daily driver I'd want more tech inside it and for the price of the new c63 you can get a 2014 e63s which has even more whizbang gadgets than the 2015 c63

Yeah sure, I get that. The W204 has plenty of kick, and honestly you don't need anymore unless you're trying to be a track superstar.

2014 C63 AMG 507 sedan
The 507 has a timeless look and appeal. The W205 C63 is the new bruiser. I'm just not a fan of MBs new sedan design. Both engine outputs can easily send you to jail driven on public roads. My opinion, 507 sedan > M3 > W205 sedan. Or wait for the New C63 coupe. If it's anywhere close to the S-class coupe, it'll be a stunner!
