Weistec stage 3 is in!!!

I finished up with the install last week and simply put, the install was a bit intimidating to say the least with the removal of the front bumper and radiator, but it actually went together pretty nicely. And the car's an animal.

If you're wondering about stage 2 vs. stage 3, I can say the stage 2's probably a lot less work to install, and I've never rode in a stae 1, or 2, but on an already expensive stage 2 build, I'd hate to have to move to a stage 3 after installing a stage 2 blower. This forum won't let me move the curser down for a new paragraph??? Anyways, for those of you wondering why I went with a stage 3, is because they don't have a stage 4, hahaha. But the cool thing about this set-up is because until you mash the gas, nobody inside or outside the car will even be aware that anything has changed. We took a 2xx mile road trio yesterday, and she's just as sweet as she's ever been prior to the blower install. And I will say the kit is designed/engineered nicely. I've installed a few power adders to different vehicles, and this one sure exceeds any other blower install.

Welcome to the club.

You going to hit the track? Did you do the ice tank?

Nice to see some guys still modding on here, more of that and less CF is needed

What's your driving impressions of the car with the blower now?

No kidding, and have one bad *** car that can stomp most sport bikes, minus a 1000cc.

Pretty much the same with more power!! Yeah, I'll run her at the track, but I'm not expecting great times because of the launch, I really wish this thing had the pre 2012 traditional automatic trans with a regular torque converter for track use. If I use race start or traction control it just simply interferes too much and launches too carefully. with TC off it launches fairly hard, but has a tendancy to start "wheel-hopping", And I don't really want the car to ride home on a tow truck. I live 100miles from the nearest 1/8th mile track and 180 miles from the nearest 1/4 mile track, but I'll surely report back with some times.

My best 60' so far has been a measly 2.0-2.1 on drag radials, and more power surely won't help this. Anybody have any advice or experience on launching a 2012 and newer C63 with the mct trans??

Get rid of that stupid race start would be my first start.

Use manual mode, don't load it up, just stomp on it. With actual drag tires it will launch hard with no spin.

warm the tyres get rid of that race start crap and use manuel mode only

this car does not like any other mode but manuel
ther tranny can simple not keep up in other modes

There is not enough line pressure

I usually never use race start as I stated before it's way too conservative. I'm considering either using race start, or leaving traction control on to keep the whells from hopping which "will" break stuff. When I simply trade feet with TC off, it feels like "side stepping" the clutch on a manual car and is very abrupt, again causing violent wheel hop most of the time on drag radials. I won't run regular "street" tires on anything with decent power, in a rwd vehicle. Are either of your C63's 2012 or newer, or are they 2011 or older with torque converters?

Shouldn't be getting wheel hop...

Pointless to race if you have to use traction control..

Any vehicle I've ever raced with an independent suspension has a tendency to wheel-hop alot more-so than a solid axle car, and unfortunately for me, this C63 is no different, I really think it has to do with how hard the MCT "slams" like a clutch car from side-stepping the pedal when gassing the car with the TC off, yes it has netted me better results than when using the TC, but it WILL break something if continued. I also have raced a few vehicles with a tq converter, "basically a fluid-couple" to the input shaft of the trans and I can say it applies the power a lot smoother than these MCT transmissions.

I never get wheel hoop, that's the worst.

That's why I got a 2010 for the torque convertor, didn't want that MCT.

Yeah, there's nothing better for drag racing than a good automatic with the right converter. I have an 03 Lightning with a lot of bolt-ons and nitrous, and with a modded tranny, and just a highr stall speed than stock, the thing is easy and quick to launch at the track, I love that set-up!

Well, since the install, I've been to an eighth mile track, and a dyno event. The dyno claimed 636rwhp, and 515ft lbs. of rwtq. The eighth mile track has given my wife a handful of 7.6-7.8 timeslips, with a 7.5 best at 95mph at 6500ft actual altitude, and a da of 9300', before the blower, the car's best time-slip at the same track was an 8.6, so the blower is a huge success, and performs "as advertised"!!!
