Mb tech needed melbourne

I finally got my tranny back and I'm in the process of getting it installed ATM but was told I need to reset my tranny adaptions
Has anyone else ever got this done and how long did it take
Do they do it from the ecu port or from the tcu??

And last but not least does anyone from melbourne have any contacts that will be able to do this for me

You should be able to reset the TCU on your own. Read this.

Didn't you send the valve body with it?

I would ask Weistec what the recommended procedure is. I think there is a proper reset that the dealers can do using software. Not really 100% sure though, just something I remember reading.

More than likely there saying you need to re-adapt transmission up/down shift values. This should always be done with trans and/or valve body replacement. Easier with a driver and passenger controlling sds. Have to adapt each gear 3 times minimum. Bar graph for engine speed and engine torque once in the green on the graph sds will beep. It can take some time 30min to hour. Depends on how good you are feathering gas pedal to stay in the green on the graph for upshifts. Downshift much easier. Get up to final gear and coast to a stop 3 times.

Is this on the xentry system? My friend has the laptop, where do I find this menu?

When I got my tranny back, I wasn't told this. I did shift differently and I had to drive it in S mode for it to learn to shift smoothly into first gear.

Yes it is in xentry. Go into VGS trans control unit. Having a memory blank right now. Under adaptation or actuation menu look for trans adaptation or adaptation values should have upshifts and downshift values for all shifts. Re-set adaptations if selected will bring you to the graph screen which I was talking about before. If you only have a certain shift ex 2-3 upshifts giving you problems you can just re-adapt that shift. You don't need to go through all shifts. If you replace trans or valve body then yes re-adapt all up/downshifts. Once completed you will see before and after values. Your after values should be lower than your before.
