Real world launch control times
Ok so I tested out launch control for the first time. I took a video and stop watched the time. Came up with 4.9 to 60 and 10.3 to 100 this seems not that great to me. The actual launch off the line seemed delayed like a bogged down. Wondering if launch control controls wheel spin ie slowing you down slightly if you have poor road conditions? What times are you guys pulling with this?? Is my time slower most likley from wheel spin being tamed down through traction control? Just so your not worried I did this on an abandoned road way no cars no homes no worries.

A better measure would be 60 foot times. Most people that race their cars say ghat launch control is not the fastest way to get out of the blocks. I have a torque convertor car, so I don't have experience with MCT, but that's just what I read.

If you did not disable traction control and ESP your launch times will affected. You need to hold the bottom down for 3-5 seconds. Note. This does not completely disable ESP.
And if you have lots of room so as not to loop into something enable dyno mode. This completely disables ESP, TC and ABS.

Definitely going to be slow if you have traction control off and most people record better times with practice.
The only good thing about race start is consistency. You're going to get the same numbers time after time, even if they aren't the absolute best.

I had traction control in sport mode. not fully on but not fully off. I was unaware of a dyno mode. Have any of you timed your selves with launch control?are my times within normal for launch control. What should I be getting. I was hoping for a 4.4 to 60 and a 9 second to 100

Even in sport mode there is some intervention from the cars electronics.
No matter what mode your in you should be able to improve your times by lowering your tire pressure and starting on a clean high friction surface.
Another question, how are you timing the run?

I believe you have to be in sport mode to use the Race Start aka launce control feature. I've tried it a couple of times and it should be a hard launch.
Just an aside I stopped once to pay a toll and activated it. When that light tuned green, wow.

I was timing it by looking at my video and starting and stoping the stopwatch when I took off and when I hit 60 and 100. What times should I be getting? It's a 2012 non p31

You should be getting around 4.4s ? But that would be on a perfect day with perfect surface and temperature etc.
Launch control is not the most efficient way to launch the car though, as traction control kicks in a lot (even though it's in sport mode).
IIRC the best way is to be TC full off (5s press), Left foot on the brake, right foot a bit on the gas to build up, and then release the gas and control your throttle to be at the limit of grip. Full throttle in 1st gear rarely works best for me, but I have a P31.

Taken from car and driver...
What the 507 option doesn’t do is make the C63 any quicker than the ’12 C63 coupe. Equipped with the discontinued $6050 AMG Development package, that 481-hp C63 was the quickest of any C63 we’ve encountered, hitting 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, quicker than what we saw in the 510-hp Black Series. This C63’s launch-control programming is entertaining, but we still managed to beat it by a few tenths by applying light brake torque to the engine. With that technique, 60 mph arrived in 3.9 seconds. We also tested a C63 507 sedan, which is lighter than the coupe by 45 pounds and managed a 3.8-second time. The take-away from all of this test talk: Every C63 we’ve ever run hit 60 mph in less than four seconds. They’re all quick, with or without the optional power.

I was thinking of that C&D test.
OP - when the magazines test high performance cars they don't make one run and click off the best performance. They make many attempts and will be testing on a pristine launch surface with no grit or debris all of which will cause the electronic babysitter to engage.
They may even adjust tire pressure.
