Tune Issues

So my brother took his C63 back to the tuner and they put it on the dyno.

Once they ran the car on the dyno it was showing significantly less power than it had when it left with the tune.

It went from: 430whp to 403whp

The tuner said it could be due to adaptations. I'm not sure how that works. Shouldn't a tune just be a tune and not re-adapt :S

I never had that issue with my C63.

So now they say they've run it up, tweaked it and it's making 430whp again.

They said to my brother he might need to bring it in every 6-8months just to check on the tune etc.

What do you guys think?

Did they happen to mention what they thought could have "adapted" to result in such a significant change in hp? I'm just curious about what they think would account for that amount of change. Thanks

Yes it does sound a bit weird.
They've "re-tuned" it and it's making 430whp but the torque has increased. So we'll see how it goes.

Sounds like BS. If it is adaptive then, just drive the car like you stole it.

No need to have the tune checked very 6 months unless you like giving your money away.

It feels like the tune disappears after a while and it's not placebo.
The car genuinely runs like dog **** after a month or two.

I know of someone that had the exact same problem. Witnessed it myself. Tune the car, made 330rwkw. A couple months later, put it on the dyno and made 300rwkw! Re tune same day, same dyno went back up to 330rwkw. Sorry I won't give Any names etc but I've witnessed what op said. They ended up changing tune and the problem went away

S550 on order
I've had this issue, expect my car was sitting for around 2 months (was waiting for a new ignition and fuel pumps from germany) and it ran like crap until I re-flashed the tune, I think the tune does either get erased after awhile or something

On my M3 the same thing happened. After the tune the car was very impressive. After a while when the car was set back to stock... I didnt notice a difference.
