Are the stock springs linear or progressive rate?

I really like the way my car sits in the back stock with 19s and 275's, there's very little gap, but the front doesn't sit as nicely. I'd just like to get the front end down a bit (maybe .5") and give the car a slight rake at the same time. As far as I know, you can cut a linear rate spring without it feeling any different. Can anyone chime in on this?

edit: model is a 2011 performance package car in canada, which i'd assume doesn't have the sport suspension.

The springs on a C63 are linear. The rears look like they could be trimmed but the fronts do not. The rears have a very consistent size top to bottom but the fronts tighten up the windings equally at the top and bottom. If you can trim the front I think you will have to take an equal cut off the top and the bottom of the spring to achieve your target length. Also if you cut very much it doesn't look like the springs will fit the perch's. This is probably not a good way to change front ride height.

You can raise the rear a little with thicker top seats available from the dealer.

Maybe it's just better to go h&r springs with the bigger pad in the rear. then it should go down a bit on all corners and give a bit of a rake. I just hear the h&r springs ride pretty rough.

No. They actually ride a little softer than stock. Car still handles great. My dad complained a lot when he drove the car stock. With the H&Rs, he thought "hmmm...I could daily drive this"

My experience too - I needed it to be a tad lower and am very happy with the ride on HR springs. Not harsher than stock.

When you say they're softer is that compared to the regular ones or the sport springs that some cars came with?
