Baby seatS in c63 sedan. let's see em
hello.
got 2nd kid coming and need 2 baby seats in the car now.
I got a rear facing (which pushes the passenger seat forward a lot) and going to need a front facing in the middle as well...I would like to keep it empty behind the driver seat so I have some leg room. if It doesn't work out I will be forced to let the c go.
I haven't purchased the 2nd seat yet ... just wondering how is it with yall dads.
ill be keeping the E and look into 08+ range rover sport sc or 08+ cayenne v6 or S if I had to let the c go. any input on those will be great as well.
thanks

How old is your first child? I have a six year old and a 4 year old but they're both in boosters. But of course I have each child behind the driver and passenger. There is plenty of room

Forgot to mention that when my six year old sits behind the driver seat it does get a bit tight back there. I've noticed that I'm always cleaning the back of my seat.

first is only 9 month old lol .. the rear facing I put behind the passger side really pushes it forward a lot.
Look into the Diono Radian RXT. They are one of the narrowest car seat in the market. It's also very safe and comfortable for my daughter. It will allow you to place a rear facing in the center and forward facing in the passenger rear seat. That's the configuration that I would set up in my c.
I see... but I already have a graco rear facing .. is it possible to put a forward facing in the middle ?
would you mind sharing some pictures?
thanks

i have one of these for my nephew ..tons of room and its insanely light weight, could easily fill the back seat up with 3 of those no problems and its only around $75 CAD, so probably like $5 USD

Dang bro, ur first child is only 9 months old .. Someone is not wasting time j/k lol
Seriously it will be a tight fit to install 2 rear facing car seats w/o using the driver side.

The Diogo rear faced takes a lot of room. I would suggest the clek foonf. I have it forward facing behind the driver seat for my 18 month old (been in it since she was 6 months old, but of course rear facing till now). For my newborn I have an infant seat rear facing. I will be getting another foonf for the new born once she hits 6 months.

Canada sucks, we get shafted on the best baby seats because we have unique certification requirements that most manufacturers don't bother with due to our smaller market. We end up with inferior seats because of it.
Anyways, I used this in my C63 BS.
http://en.pegperegocanada.com/baby/primo-viaggio-4-35
It fits nicely behind my seat without the base, and I'm 6'2". Only thing that sucks without the base is that it's a PITA taking it out into the stroller. It fits with the base, but I'm not comfortable at all. On the plus side, you can get the seat in Alcantara, which matches the car nicely.
As for different cars, I just picked up a GLA45 which fits 3 kids out back with tons of driver/passenger room. Rear facing Peg Perego for the newborn, front facing convertible (Britax Marathon) for the 2 year old, and enough space in the center for the 8 year old (no booster). It's like having as much room as a SUV yet drives and handles like a car.

Rear facing we used a Graco with the snap in bottom (when we had a BMW 335 sedan). It was fine in the middle with one child. When we had two, we moved both seats outboard (behind driver and passenger), as I never thought of putting on in center. We switched to Recaro for all of our forward facing seats, and now they do double-duty as boosters in our house in AZ when we visit.
If you really want to squeeze one of then in the middle, the narrowest forward facing seat on the market is the Diono Radian. Since it is all steel (and heavy as hell) it is 17 inches wide.
Realistically, consider buying a different car seat for $300 rather than a car for $80K (or so). If you really want to buy a new car, you should compare the shoulder room to fit 3 car seats (like under features and specs secitons on Edmunds.com). Wife picked up a VW GLI and it is very tight with two boosters and a Diono Radian, since the space is 53.6 in. THe kids actually get in and out without unlocking the seat belt. Of course, you are in a different situation.

Most importantly, buy the heavy rubber seat saver pads to save your seats from damage.
