Check Engine: P0191 code

Check engine light came on. So I scanned via Star and got the following code:
P0191 Fuel pressure control:the upper limit value is reached*

Anyone ever have this code? or have any clue as to what it might be?

This is for my Ml63 but that forum is fairly slow so I thought I'd try you guys...

Any resolution to CEL code P0191? I'm not sure where to begin - any assistance is much appreciated.

Thanks!

so my 08 C63 has had this problem for awhile now. took it in and the indy shop says it's P0191 and 3699 - Upper limit has been reached or whatever. They say according to their tech site, all of the repairs for this code on this motor have been to replace the fuel pumps. changing the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail does nothing.

Here is a thread that was on the BS page. It shows the pic of my old and new filter. The fuel just clogs the hoses and upsets the pressure. If your car is 5/6 years old, its due for a filter change anyway and its a lot cheaper than pumps, although some have had to change pumps as well.

If you are being cheap and are mechanical, you can buy walboro pumps off amazon and retro fit them in. I was going to do that, but the filter solved my problem.

No wonder you have a problem, you can't follow instructions. It says to remove the film before use

Jokes aside, I had the same problem a few years back. Both pumps were replaced under warranty, for me that solved the problem.

When you start the car, is there a high pitched whine or whistling sound. If so it may need a PCV valve replaced. This can also cause the P0191 code.

I thought the whining sound is normal/common on cold starts with these cars? Usually goes away after a couple of seconds.

What exactly are you looking for someone to do? Look at all these posts. You need someone who knows what they're doing and has the proper tools to diagnose and correct the issues. It looks like there are a lot of them.

Try finding a shop that has a good diagnostician so you stop throwing parts at it if they aren't solving the issue. Too many shops throw parts at issues because they aren't playing with their own money.

Also, is anyone else reading this thread like it's Borat?
