Leaving the C63 and going to...
So I think it's pretty much done and will be trading in my 2011 C63 in a few days and get a 2012 BMW M3 with competition package and DCT.
Anyone else made this switch or the other way around? Regret it or happy with it? I just got bored and wanted a change more than anything I suppose.

Went from a 335i to M3 DCT to C63 PP.
of the three the M3 felt the most sluggish around town-that high revving motor needs to to pushed to high rpms to make any real power. I like the C63 interior better than M3. The only good thing about the m3 was the steering was more sensitive and suspension could be adjusted from the cockpit.

Not sure the E9x is quite the upgrade. The new F series M def is. You also could try a B8 S4. Mine has been greeat to me for 4 years. With a tune and pulley I can run away from E9x Ms and have a nicer interior+ AWD and manual.

You could tune a 335i that would run away from the E9X M3's too. Those were torqueless wonders.

Ultimately, it's up to you, but as someone that almost ended up in an E9X M3 before choosing the C63, I would really take some time to think about this.
The E9X M3s are very solid cars (good looking, too) but you really have to rev the **** out of them to achieve/experience maximum enjoyment. That's difficult to do on a daily basis without breaking the law (unless you plan on using the E9X as a track toy).
The LCI/facelift C63 ('12+), F8X M3/M4, and W205 C63 all have tons of torque on tap, which makes them all very usable on a daily basis. I've had a decent amount seat time in both the F8X and W205. As much as I love my W204, the W205 is an even more dynamic car, and the sounds it makes did not leave me disappointed. The interior is in another world.
In Motor Trend's recent first test, the W205 C63 S put up numbers equal to or better than the W204 C63 Black Series, which is nuts. The W205 S completed the figure eight three tenths quicker than the Black Series (and the Black Series had the advantage of 255s up front and 285s out back).
Despite weighing 3,900 lbs, the W205 stopped from 60-0 in 101 feet (3 less feet than the lighter F80 M3) and also had better lateral acceleration (1.01 g) than the M3. Its 1/4 mile trap speed was just shy of 120 mph.
The F8X is stupid fast, too (0-60 in 3.8 sec; easy 12.2-sec 1/4 miles, etc.).

Haha I guess most of the responses were expected on Mbworld. To be honest I've always wanted a M3, when I didn't even know what AMG was M3 was the car I always wanted growing up. Albeit it was the E46 and I am staying away from F80 because I still want the NA V8. The one I am getting is pretty much loaded with every single option including the Dinan exhaust, intake and tune extras. It is in the Brass Metallic Paintwork (BMW Individual) colour which is the ONLY ONE in North America. Needless to say the car should hold a decent value and I may perhaps switch back to AMG in the future after a couple of years when E63 4Matic's will be more readily available. The E92 coupe is a gorgeous car and to be honest I don't like the W204 or W205 C63's in terms of cosmetic appearance as much. W205 is even worse than the W204 for me. The E92 M3 I feel is the perfect amount of aggressive and of course I am going to be modding it I am sure no matter what I say. That being said since it being such a rare colour I will keep it to the minimum and to reversible things.

+1
or 997 Turbo/GT3, C7 Stingray. So many more options out there.
To OP, too bad you already crossed off F8X from your list just because it has an inline 6. The E46 M3 had an inline 6 also. Since you are modding anyways, have you heard aftermarket exhausts for F8Xs?
F8X > W205 C63 IMO

Congrats! Would love to see some picture once you pick it up. Be wary of members on the bmw boards as I heard a lot of them can be douchey.
