Oil Consumption - C63
Hey Everyone,
Firstly - Thanks for the help!
I purchased a 2013 C63 Coupe in May with 62,000 KM.
After 3 weeks i had the check oil alert. I checked oil after it came up a few more times and found it slightly low. I poured in 1L of oil. Issue disappeared. I assumed it was because i was driving hard.
Its now been 10 weeks and at 68,000 KM, and i just had the same alert this morning.
I don't see an oil leak on the ground in my parking spot. Does this car just drink lots of oil or is there possibly an issue?
I love my car!
Thanks
Andy

Its been discussed a lot. you are fine and doing better than me and mine has been checked and normal. i add a quart every 1200 miles and noticed 0w40 burns quicker than 5w40 but from what i've been told, its better to just top up more frequently with 0w40

depending if you use 0w40 or 5w40

I have only put about 500 on my new C so no adding oil yet but I've found that I have to add a quart every 5-8K on my ML63, no oil stains on garage floor or other evidence of leaks. It just burns some over time

From the 2014 owners manual.
"Depending on the driving style, the vehicle consumes up to 0.9 US qt (0.8 liters) of oil over a distance of 600 miles (1,000 km). The oil consumption may be higher than this when the vehicle is new or if you frequently drive at high engine speeds."
Now, I don't experience consumption as high as they suggest but there is some. Maybe a qt every 1,000 miles or so.

Thanks Everyone!
Is it safe to put 2 Quarts of Oil at once when oil is showing just below the marker and getting the check oil message? I have put 1 Quart before and it appeared to move above the marker significantly from what i can remember. I don't want to overfill it because i heard this can be an issue.
Thanks!

when i first bought my car, it had 45k miles and it hit 50k miles w/ no oil consumption. I changed it at 50k w/ 0w-40 (i'm not sure what it was before) and i would have to put roughly half a liter every 3k miles. it's currently at 56k
