Exhaust Tip Cleaning

Exhaust Tip Cleaning
At cars and coffee in Austin, I saw another C63 and new instantly that my exhaust tips needed some sprucing up. I didn't find anything too definitive in the forum, so I tried dish soap and elbow grease. That didn't work too well, so I did more research and several places out there mention steel wool, but then plenty of places say "Don't use steel wool on stainless steel". Eventually, my Dad referred me to "Blue Magic", and thought I'd show what about an hour and half and elbow grease could do....

As mentioned, just don't wait too long between cleanings.
It takes me about 5 minutes to clean my tips...if it takes more than that, then I use Mother's and that does the trick...

I use #0000 steel wool takes about 30 seconds for all four pipes and the #0000 is not course enough to scratch the chrome. I also keep them waxed once a month to assist in clean up. but the #0000 just wipes them clean really easy no scrubbing required.

I've always used Never Dull for my exhaust tips. It's like a giant ball of cotton with the polishing stuff embedded in it. You tear of a piece and start polishing. It can be had at Walmart or auto parts stores for < $10 per can
