Another what is it worth thread. 2012 P88 Sedan.
Standard P88 Edition 1 Sedan. Matte silver and 22k miles. Perfect except a small touched up scratch on the front bumper which wouldn't be of note, except of course, that the paint is matte.
I love the car but the ride is a little harsh and not very practical for small kids.
Just thinking out loud here so I'd appreciate some opinions. I know the Benz dealer will buy it as they keep sending me letters. I'm sure what they think is fair will differ greatly from what I think is fair .
Thanks.

The dealer sends out form letters to everyone because they are ads to get you to come in and buy a new car. There is not a real shortage of 2012 c63s.
I don't see any additional value in the edition 1 sedan as it doesn't have P31 and the paint is a turn off to some. Given the low mileage it's probably in the mid 40s. The dealership will offer 40K if you're lucky.

Hello, I'm looking to trade up from my C250 to something a little more fun to drive. I've got my eye on a car that I think might be your trade-in! Same model and mileage in Austin, TX at a Ford dealership. I've been doing some research trying to figure out how to value the Edition 1 and luckily came upon this thread. I know this is typically a personal question, but would you mind if I ask who you ended up selling (or trading) the car to and what did they give you? It would be most helpful to me in negotiating a deal. Thanks!

I see the ad has it listed at $46.5K. So I stand by estimate that it's worth in the low 40s and the dealership probably gave him in the high 30s, maybe 40 for it. Given that it's at a Ford dealer you can move quick to see if they'll make a deal to get it off their lot, otherwise I see them just waiting it out to make more profit on a car they just listed.
The trade in amount isn't really relevant to your purchase as you don't know the other side of the deal. I'd imagine someone trading in a C63 at a Ford dealership would also be buying a car that day so who knows how the trade value influenced the new car sale.

the way I see it, and somebody correct me if im wrong, a dealership welcomes a buyer with a trade in more than a buyer purchasing a car on its own. reason being is that they make money from the car youre getting and will make money from the car youre trading in. at least thats what the dealer told me. having said this, i always ask for the best price they can get my old car and the best price they can give their car away. driving home, at least i ll "think" i got a great deal.
