Oil Change Over due 2,000 miles Need Help!
Okay guys, so i am tripping out i need to know what damage i have caused my engine. I have 50,000 miles on her and recently I haven't had a chance to get an oil change I am about 9,500 miles with the same oil overdue by 2,000! Last week i heard a lifter noise coming from the left side of the tire when i pushed my car really hard. Is this normal the lifter noise/ticking noise when accelerating normally and idling? Is my engine going to be ***'d? Or do these v8 6.2 make a alot of noise I just got the car 10,000 miles ago! The Previous owner changed the oil every 7,500! No oil leaks fyi..

... So, you know you're at almost 10k miles on the same oil and beat on it while hearing mechanical chatter?
Just change the oil. You'll be fine

Every 5k miles or 6 months. It's not a cheap car to fix when things break so I maintain or over-maintain it.

OP, you're fine as far as the oil change interval goes. Factory recommends 10k oil change intervals. Some of us change it sooner, but there's a debate as to whether it's good to change it too soon (it's in this forum, so you can search it if you want to read it). I myself usually go the 10k until the FSS lights up, but sometimes if I'm bored will change it at 5k.

I change all my AMG's between 5-7500.....but others are right, A service intervals are actually 10k so going to 10 isn't going to hurt anything. I just like fresh oil in mine :-) (well, fresh-er :-))
