C63 Intake fix

C63 Intake fix
Hey guys. The check engine light on my C63 has been on for a bit and when I took it to the dealer they said it needs a new intake manifold! they said the intake was cracked and that the bolts had loosened off. Seems crazy so I searched this site and found that a lot of you have had problems with the intake and the active valves. So I took it to my local mechanic to check things out and the intake is off now and everything appears fine! the active valve components all appear fine and operational and no cracks or anything! I hate just replacing things blindly and can`t justify buying a new intake at a cost of around $3500.
Any suggestions?

C63 Intake fix
If the manifold isn't cracked/damaged, it doesn't need to be replaced. If it is and does, look into getting a used one from Weistec. Otherwise, check around for leaks in the gaskets, breather tube, breather tube connection into the manifold, vacuum lines and nipples, etc.

Well I guess because I never asked Lol. You know how these fancy dealerships are. I`m just dealing with a service adviser who only knows what she is told and the techs are across the street in another building.
Thanks for the replies guys. I think I`ll just tell the shop to put it all back together and we`ll clear the codes and see what happens.

Well in the end I just had the indy shop put fresh gaskets in and new bolts and clear the code. I've had it back for 5 days now and have put a few hundred KM's on it and the check engine light has remained out and the car is running like a rapped ape! I do believe its fixed! Gotta like that!
Thanks everyone who took the time to reply!
