Another P30/P31 Question - 2012
I hate to do it on my first post here, but I've searched high and low through several P30/P31 threads and haven't found a definitive answer. I'm looking at purchasing a 2012 C63 sedan and I'm wondering what PP it has. The VIN decode lists things like:
P30 AMG PERFORMANCE PACKAGE
923 OUTPUT INCREASE OF ENGINES
U70 BRAKE CALIPERS PAINTED RED
I thought the P30 was discontinued before 2012. It has a build date of 11/11, so maybe it was one of the last? What's the deal here?

And of course the next thread I click on after creating this one might be the answer to my question. I suppose this means the car has the "P31" package, but it's listed as P30, 923, 251, U70, etc... on the build sheet.
When you run the VIN and get like 40 codes back the p31 package is split up into different parts, one of which says P30. Confusing yes, but this is how Mercedes labels it. Even more confusing since there used to be a package actually code p30, but they are very different. If you go the dealership and ask for the window sticker printout (i.e. base price with listed options), you'll see the p31.
Look for code 923, that is the one for the extra horsepower. Code 251 is the one for higher top speed, U70 is the red calipers, etc. Code 471 is the LSD, which you may not have since it is a separate option for 2012+.
It is impossible to have a c63 couple with just the p30 package as that is pre-facelift only (in the US).

There is not a separate code for P30 & P31, they both use the same code (which is stupid). It's just the addition of the other features where the code will vary.

I think it goes like this.... I'm still new here so I could be completely wrong!
P30 + 923 + U70 + 471 (lsd) = P31 package
P30 + 923 + U70 = P30 package
At least thats how I understand it.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!

2010 P31 here in Csnada did not come with the LSD, it was a separate option. 2011 + did

Yea, same here, it wasn't guaranteed to come with LSD, which is just as bad, every C63 should come with it. Mine Had the P31 package and all other possible goodies but the previous owner didn't feel the need for an LSD, weird thinking people.
