Parts
Hey all,
I was wondering if you guys recommend using Rock Auto for your parts (Brake pads, rotors, etc...) or another third party for parts.
I was just wondering if you thought it was okay vs. Genuine (dealership) Mercedes.
The reason I am asking is not to try and save a dime. It is an AMG, so I realize things will be expensive, but I am in Germany and the Dealer is charging something like 1600 Euro for a brake job ($1820.30).
I was wondering if this was because of the fact that I am in Germany and they have to find, order, etc....the parts.
As it is, a quart of oil is over $30.00, so I was thinking that possibly I could find a better channel for parts.
I work for the government, so shipping is not really an issue.
I have a 2013 C63 Sedan (U.S. Spec)
Thanks for any advice.

There is nothing magical about the parts on our cars. They are not specialty carbon or other ferry dust. The car is a C series with a great motor and transmission.
100% IMO save money where u can. Some parts are only avail from Merc. Also use the. CORRECT fluids.
As for brakes this has been discussed so many times it's sickening. Factory 1 piece rotors are avail online pretty cheap $140 or so. Pads factory $230. Sensors $11. There are also aftermarket options that can save you more if your not stuck on $ spent = quality. Sometimes yes but others no. Read everything on this forum and your questions will be answered.

P.S.S Eric, Thanks for your words of wisdom. When I speak to the German representative at Mercedes, he does sort of elude to "ferry dust", so I was getting worried about not doing the right thing. Again, I appreciate everyone's help.
I am a noob, and this is BY FAR the nicest machine I could have every hoped to own, so I want to do things correctly.

These guys pretty much listed all of your best options. ECS is great and where I would go if I am looking for OEM stuff, like oil.
The only thing I would say otherwise for is brakes, and for that I'd go through Tal@ACG. I've seen many happy members go through him and when the day comes where I need brakes I'll go through tal.

The only recommendation I make about getting aftermarket brake parts vs OEM is to be careful to get parts that will perform as well or better. It can be done and will save a lot of money. But sometimes pads are cheap for a reason and brakes are too important to safety to not get the right performance specs.
