Coolant Message
So as I started my car today, the check coolant level message came up and I read on threads that I should take it to the dealer since it might be a sign of leaks. Mines a 2011 C63, but it is still under warranty.
Also I have the eurocharged tune on it, anyone know if I should take it off before going to the dealer?
Also I get my oil changes from a local trusted mechanic, but he doesn't top off coolant, so after 18k miles is it ok for coolant to be added or should I take it to the dealer?

An early USA 2011 (made before 7/2010) will still have the old style headbolts and the coolant message may be the first sign of them needing replacement, but not a guarantee by any means.
I would look for coolant in the engine bay around the block. If you see some then definitely take it to the dealer otherwise top it off and take it in if the message comes up again.

I experienced the same thing today. I started the car and the low coolant light came on. I parked it planning to take it to the dealership tomorrow. Tonight i went to check again and i started the car and the light didnt come on. I ran it for a few minutes and the motor and exhaust sounded normal. Now im parnoid!!
Tomorrow i will be going to the dealership to buy an extended warranty! They quoted me a powertrain warranty through safeguard for $1100 (2 yr 24K)

You can post the VIN in the datacard thread, but if the date is after 9/2010 you definitely have the new bolts and if it's before 5/2010 you definitely have the old bolts so it's just those couple of months in 2010 that are a grey area.

You do have the newer headbolts, but I would keep an eye on the car anyway because it could be something else or maybe you just lost some in normal driving (especially if it isn't being topped off). If you continue to see the coolant message definitely take the car in.

Unless you get the message again soon, I wouldn't worry about it. I add some every couple of years, head bolts were replaced a long time ago on mine.

I actually just take it to the dealer and they fill it up. I don't like them thinking I'm one of "those customers" that can't even top off their own coolant, but I drive by the dealership everyday, have a great relationship with them, and didn't want to deal with buying a bottle, so just had them do it. Lol.
