Burbles and POPs Help
Hey guys not sure if anything is really wrong but my c63 doesn't burble or pop on the kickdown. Car runs fine other then that pulls hard sounds great. Now I just got it about a month ago 2013 with P31 & LSD I'm at 65K now. I have tried it in all modes I get very very little in manual and that rarely. I'm I doing something wrong, tranny problem or a feature not turned on? Or is there something wrong with my car?

Fold the rear seats down. Run the car hard. Mash the throttle. Lift. Enjoy the pops and burbles.

Submerge the back half of your car in water. Preferably freshwater, like a lake. Start it up and rev the engine. Burbles and pops.

All are great plans guys! LOL love the fresh water idea! Disconnecting the battery I think will be my first step. Hopefully that works. What makes the car burble and pop anyway? I know back in the day cars would dump a bit of fuel in the exhaust to achieve this, but what do our cars do to get that sound?

Problem I'm having is the car isn't doing the burbles and pops at all. The only reason I even found out was I was in a friends stock C63 non performance pack and it burbled and poped all over the place where mine nothing. I pushed the car hard and all but nothing. In manual mode if I downshift from a high rev then I get a little burble barely noticeable. No idea what to do. I will try disconnecting the battery overnight tonight and hopefully that resets everything. Any other ideas?

1. Turn the ignition key to the "on" position which is just before you crank the engine to start.
2. Press the accelerator to the floor and hold for 5 seconds.
3. Then turn the key to the off position but do not remove the key, then release the accelerator.
4. Wait at least 2 minutes, the ECU is then reset.
5. ECU is now reset and you are ready to get new rear tires.
The ECU reset procedure only erases the adaptive transmission and throttle settings. It does not erase any of the fuel, timing or other programming.

Also Naverino, while in manual mode, get it into third or fourth gear. Get the rpm's around 4k and let off the throttle for a bit. Keep doing this and you will hear the pops and crackle.

INS1GNIA I left the car battery disconnected all day over 8hrs. I also tried your reset, and the only things that have happened is it holds gear longer and a slight burble when coming to a full stop(which you can JUST barely hear with only complete silence in the car). I even tried it in manual mode got it into third and fourth gear, got the rpm's around 4k and let off the throttle for a bit as you directed still nothing. I killed almost a full tank of gas trying to get this car to pop and crackle trying all kinds of different throttle positions, all the modes and rpm's and nothing. Starting to feel I may have gotten a lemon here.

Holy crap dude. You're calling the car a lemon because it doesn't make a burbling/cracking noise? Are you serious? Is that really what's important to you?
Because if it is, then maybe you should just get another car. Maybe with a cool blowoff valve whooshing noise.
I swear this forum is getting worse every day with these kinds of retarded questions.

Im just frustrated. I feel as if I got a lemon not claiming it is one, otherwise I would not have bought it. Is it important, sure it is its an AMG it should sound correct as well as perform, that's why I didn't buy a car with a "cool blowoff valve".
The guys here on this forum are great and have tons of knowledge and experience with this car that I don't. That's why I posted the question, and maybe there are others who have the same problem and didn't post this question because they don't want others thinking the question is stupid.
Does this mean I will not keep trying to get it right...no. I will be taking it into the dealer as I've tried everything I coould. Hopefully they can figure it out. Or if you or anyone else has any more ideas as to what it could be please let me know. Just venting my frustrations here as I figure we've all been there at one point or another.

Sometimes certain questions are more palatable when asked in person. The Internet and emails have a way of making things different.

OP, if the tranny reset didn't help, see what the dealer says. I don't find the stock pops to be that loud, personally. Are you sure your friend doesn't have a tune? Or did he buy it secondhand, and maybe he's not even sure if it has a tune? I know the EC V5 tune makes loud pops.

Like some others have said, get a tune, fold rear seats down (this should immediately show a difference), get a secondary cat delete then report back. If none of those provide any difference, I would say get your hearing or driving ability checked .

Maybe hold it in a gear, pull it to the red line, lift off the throttle, and as it is coasting down, touch the accelerator ever so slightly and you'll hear plenty pops and bangs
Oh and do it with your window open!

OK so what's happening with my 63 is that it doesn't make those sounds. I've had it happed a couple of times very faintly when I came to a stop. I get that it won't be loud but I'm sure I should be able to hear it with no one but me in the car and radio off and windows open. I confirmed with my friend he's all stock no mods other then front lip and his 63 makes the sounds without even trying. Granted not loud but enough to hear with the windows closed and radio on at low volume. Even he is stumped as to why my car doesn't do it. Weird, hopefully I can take it in this week to the dealer.
What makes the car make those sounds in the first place? Hoping to maybe work the other way around to check.

You usually get burbles/pops once the car has warmed up and driven for a while. And they're not very loud or anything. My stock mini cooper makes louder "fake" pops in sport mode
But interesting how your buddy's stock c63 is behaving different to yours. Let us know what you find from your dealer.
Also the burbles/pops were more noticeable for me once I got the ec tune and row boxes.
