ESS M156 Supercharger kit available in January
I was on the ESS site last week and noticed that they now have C63 headers for sale. So, I sent them an email asking if they were still working on a blower kit for the M156. I received this response within a few minutes.
Yes, we are. It is a 2.9L Whipple based kit with absolutely fantastic layout and build quality. It will be launched in January.
USD $9995 for a complete kit with everything
Regards,
Asbjorn Bohn
ESS Performance Products USA Inc
Looks like they also released a blower kit for Audi R8 V10 and Huracan.

People are still restoring cars from the beginning of time... This is a perfect time because the warranties are running out, the prices for the car is dropping, etc etc.
And at $10k? $6k less than weistec.
At this point, my questions would be directly related to transmission problems and who does the tuning.

I'm not sitting here saying every other C63 is going to have an S/C. Just simply saying it doesn't matter how old a car is to have people out there want to modify them.
Also, I wonder how often company's make products for cars that are brand new (or haven't come out yet) and the car turns out to be a bust and undesired?
Idk, I think it is a good move to come into the M156 S/C platform, even this late in the game.

This is exactly my point though. People will be buying PFL's and FL's expecting to do the headbolts while they supercharge and drop tranny's into these things.

^ Yeah, well that is an expensive jump. You could buy a used c63 and do a full weistec stg 3 + tranny build for the cost of a new c63s.

Oh no I would never pay more than 60k for a c-class lol I'll hold on to mine until they drop down. Those C63s prices are insane. My brother and I have a FBO Z06 to play with till then.

since the c63 and m3 pretty much came out about the same time, i'm just curious as to why they didn't do a blower back then?
or is this not an option? cool to see another option on the market besides wiestec though.

I'm going to share my little story about ESS tuning. Man I can't wait for the owner to get back into the states to do my w212!
Okay so I was out enjoying the nightlife in the valley and was introduced to some people through friends of a friend. As the guys start chatting, cars came up, and I had just picked up my CLS55 at the time... so I was very excited. We chatted a bit more and one of the guys invited me to his little "shop" he owned the next day. According to him they had done some BMW mods and were working on 63 next.
So I am expecting this is some local shop, no big deal. I go down to meet the guy over the weekend to chat it up. It's freaking ESS TUNING. Man... I walk into their open area and there is a sick r10 getting supercharged as well as widebody BMWs in there... and a line of nasty 63s (his matte gray black series is to die for, sls etc). I literally about had a heart attack. So this is his little tuning shop? One of the BEST BMW modders in the game and top notch with other cars.
Anyways, I've been in the aerospace industry for a while as an engineer. From initial theory designs, up through production parts, cfd optimization etc... this is my wheel house. I won't spoil anything but the guys at ESS are putting together amazing pieces of engineering work. The R/D and tweaking they do is on another level.
As soon as he gets back from EU I'm taking my w212 e63 back to their shop
Future is bright for 63!

I'm not trying to **** you off here, just playing a little devil's advocate. It's great that another name, that is actually reputable, is getting into this platform. ESS is a great company, I know many m3 owners with great success on their blowers.
Would be outstanding to see ESS succeed here. Again, just have to make us M156 owners confident with their tuning and how they approach the transmission.

Why didn't Weistec make a blower for the M3?

I am really interested to see what ESS comes up with, I think its a great time to come into the market with the C63 prices coming down I think they will have even more customers than in 2012/2013. Hopefully they paid attention learned from some of the other tuners oversights.
