Looking at a c63 with a carbon fiber hood?
Hey everybody- I'm finally getting around do doing some legitimate negotiations on trading in my 2013 Audi s4 for a c63. I've found one in Texas I'm interested in, mainly because of the color, but I'm not a huge fan of the carbon fiber hood someone has installed.
Is it even possible to find a stock hood at a reasonable price? I'm just not sure at the price point it would be a great idea.
The mileage can be seen in the photo. Does the price seem a tad high to anyone?

Sorry, no input on the hood, but I'm sure you wouldn't have a hard time selling that one. Price doesn't seem terrible to me, but those vary by zip. Make them replace the missing portion of the grill before you buy it.

Would that portion of the grill be attached to the hood? I assumed it was. I'm not terribly sold on the hood but if they give me 33-34k on the Audi I may go for it

Was there ever clear coat issues on the red C63's? I know there was a thread about Red C300's where the clear coat was abnormally peeling.

Yep that's what I was referring to.

Keeping all my original parts
I could understand selling the original parts if you lived somewhere with no storage options. I'm keeping all my original stock parts to convey with the car as are you. The surviving examples of this model will be highly collectible as classics and collectors require a stock vehicle or at least the parts to return to stock.

I just had that hood installed on my car yesterday. I love the hood. I can see why you may not like it per picture though. It obviously doesn't look complete with just the hood. You need more asthestics to complete the look with the hood. Good luck on finding a OG hood though, OP. Hope you find one with a reasonable price.

Yes the fitment is good. I have blacked out my front grill chrome but the piece that runs right along the front of the hood is still there while (as noted already) it is missing on the red car. It makes a big difference.

I just picked up an '09 a few weeks ago. P30 package and a few minor performance and cosmetic mods. 59,000 miles. I paid 31k, which I think was a little over market, but the condition of the car was immaculate.
For me, it came down to finding a car that was clean, local, and not black or white. From there, the price was less important.
Good luck!

From what I understand, the weight savings is 22 lbs. I think the vendor stated that as I've never done my own comparison. The quality is superb. The cf weave is perfect everywhere except at just a couple of tricky curves. The resin is smooth and even with just the fewest of blemishes. And fitment was near perfect. There was a little bit of manipulation by the body shop installing it and as you can see there's a bit of a gap up front. Overall, it gets a lot of attention at Cars & Coffee

Looks nice. Do you have any pics from above and the sides? I've been contemplating one of these on and off, as well as other options like the Mode Carbon or OEM BS/507 hood, but I wasn't sure how those vents would fit with the lines of the car. More angles would help if you have them.
