Pirelli Pzero's or PSS? CBS

Which tyres would you recommend IF ever you were to go aftermarket for a HRE wheels for your CBS.
I'm either looking at Pirelli Pzero or PSS for 305/35/20 rears and am trying to push for a 315 rear..
Only have first hand experience with PSS 3 on my Sedan and Pzero on my LP700 which i guess i cant really compare this 2.

PSS are far more streetable. The only thing I remember about my pirelli's was how loud they were and I hated it.

I wish I had an lp700 to compare with haha

I'm actually having a Pzero on the BS i'm collecting in the next few days and will try it for a week before i swap it over for PSS and will share my review over here.
trust me there's nothing more fun in a lp700-4 other than the way it depreciates and the amount of time it spends in the workshop.
LOL i'm glad i gotten rid of it a year ago

I run a 305/25R20 and looks awesome, 35 profile is a lot more rubber, stock is a 30 profile so are you sure that's what you want?

PSS over the p zero for sure

Not the Trofeo Rs. Great tire.

Let me rephrase. Being very vague on my last post. The psc 1 is a very good tire. Good drivability and low noise and great for heavier cars like ours.
The pss 2 is even better but the treadwear is lower meaning a sticker tire. Still very streetable and low noise, but you get less wet weather and less millage out of them.
The Pirelli Corsa tire is a good tire depending on what model.
There are at least 15 different variations of the Pzero with different tread patterns and treadwears so saying the pss is better is inaccurate. The Corsa is a great tire, but I like the pss and pss 2 better. The Trofeo and Trofeo R are in a different league from the pss and psc 2 in dry traction, but those are a "pzero" as well. I am running the R's and its great. Slightly higher noise but not noticable, but the dry traction is far beyond both tires, (except in the cold) but wear is not as good since they are a 60 treadwear tire and the Rs don't come full depth. So it all depends on what you're looking for.

The problem is going to be finding the size that the op wants. PSS is majorly back ordered, so that isn't an option for a while at least. I think the p zeros the op is talking about are the nero which I know in Asia are available for those sizes but personally I'd go with something else if they are the nero.

2010 C63
Had P Zero Rosso on my previous V8 rear drive. Excellent when new with good side wall compliance/ride but did not take long before they were useless in the wet although the tread wear was limited.

Running PSS on the C63 and consider them a much better tyre than the P Zero. Would not dream of putting the P Zeros on the C63. The way the C63 goes through rear tyres I suspect P Zeros would have a very limited useful life.

And of course there is the problem of what flavour of P Zero you are considering - seems to come in a confusing array of variations.

A lot of different Pzero's. The Trofeo and Trofeo R are better than any PSS or PSC tires for dry performance.

Very true.

Exactly, the softer PZero Trofeo R's are awesome tires for what they are. A top level performance dry tire. The rest of the Corsa and Trofeo family's are good as well, but for me it's Trofeo R's or bust on this car. If I need more millage, I would go with the PSC 2's

Having said all of that, the PSC 2's are some of the best performance tires on the market for street driving. If you are looking to get the very best out of your suspension or plan on track driving, you go with the Trofeo R's. If you're not going to see the track, you go with the PSC 1's or the softer PSC 2's.

Pzeros are the worst tires I've ever driven on. Horrible road noise, bad traction, quick wear.

To clarify, I'm referring to the Neros, all season I believe.

I'm not sure I'd ever buy Pirelli tires again after previous experiences with them
That said I've got pss on my c63 and after not quite 4K mi they're pretty much useless on any amount of water

Guys, as mentioned above, you cannot really say anything about P Zeros in general. Pirelli have a wide range of completely different tires all called PZero. A PZero Nero has nothing in common with a PZero Trofeo R.

Could not agree more. I don't think people get it.

I was on the Tirerack website yesterday and took a look: There is even a PZero All Season tire!

Normal PZeros are garbage.

Teofeo R > PSC2 > PSS > Other PZeros.

I'd be getting PSC2 if they came in 275/30/19, sadly they don't.

PSS is good enough though. Good tread life and price point and grip.

No such thing as a normal PZero. They make all kinds of tires, over 15 different types.

Not sure what you mean by this

"Teofeo R > PSC2 > PSS > Other PZeros."

The PSC tires are very good, but may not be soft enough, so while they may be good enough for you, some might want a softer tire with low noise and the most grip. That would be the Trofeo and Trofeo R platforms.
