Weistec Valve Body & TCU Upgrade
Anybody have any experience with it?
http://weistec.com/all/c/c-63/2008-2...u-upgrade.html
Curious to know how much faster the shifts really are?
And, I've got the Eurocharged V5 Tune, will the "Blip-Downshift" still work with this? I guess this one's harder to confirm, but just curious to see if anybody knows.
Thanks!

My car is about to go under the knife for this. Will let you know in March. I haven't seen much feedback on it here.
The 'blip-downshift' is just an ECU trick, and has nothing to do with the TCU. For the upgrade, Weistec modifies both the valve body and TCU to truly rev-match on shifts. Different things.

Curious to know as to whether that'll interfere with the actual Weistec Transmission when they recode the TCU to truly rev-match and what-not.
Interesting! I look forward to it! I come from VWs, so I'm used to a DSG. But, having a DSG Flash vs not having a DSG Flash, made a pretty significant difference. Granted, that was only about $750.
But, if it can have anything like the effect of a DSG Flash does for the DSG Transmissions, I think it's worth it.

Been tossing the idea of this upgrade around. More than anything wanting the increased line pressure to the clutches to hopefully hold the extra power from the recently added headers.
At today's exchange rates, a stage 2 blower setup is a loooong ways off lol.
The upgrade "should" suffice what I'm looking for? Only do a few 1/4 miles runs (if any) a year, all just street driving. No real "digs", just some roll on's at speed to hear them headers sing the songs of my people (yes I'm German ).

You shouldn't 'need' the VB/TCU upgrade to hold the power for a headers car. If your trans isn't liking your headers, IMO you have bigger problems than this can fix.
I've got well over 100 1/4 mile passes and a bunch of trackdays on my MCT, and it never slips. It gets grumpy after a full trackday, but no problem holding the power. I'm doing this primarily for the performance benefits on track (quicker/harder shifts, rev-matching) in conjunction with the upgraded trans pan.
