Replica wheels

Anyone know if I can find a good set of black series replicas for my 2012 Sedan? I have been searching and cannot find any reputable source.

The consensus here is that replicas are trash it seems... I don't know if anyone has any real experience with them or if people just say that because most replica wheels are on the "cheaper" side. All of the replica wheels I've seen haven't been marketed under a brand name, they usually just turn up on eBay. I would be interested to see how they actually are, most of them are probably fine.

Ebay would be the best bet for replicas but..https://mbworld.org/articles/replica-wheel-safety-hazards/.

There are enough brands/styles out there that have similar looks to the bs that I'm sure you could get..also better build quality.

Sigh, looks like I may have to go with the Niche wheels I was looking at lol. I just was trying to avoid spending more than needed. TPMS sensors added a big percentage to the package too.

TPMS from the dealer is really pricey - it's like buying four cell phones - but ebay prices are under $100 for a set of four.

Get a decent aftermarket wheel with BS look. You'll be better off than buying some cheap replicas. unless you look for winter shoes. GL

Agree^
Wheels - the only thing keeping your car on the road - like tires, are not something to cheap out on.

I would dare say that for me, if i were to go for replicas,i definitely would not go for replicas that jeopardize the safety and handling of the car- wheels.

whats cheap though? most replica MB rims are pretty much the same quality as our cast OEM ones ..MB just charges $2k a wheel cause they can lol ..unless youre buying some like $50 wheels then yeah obviously you'll have issues but $200-400 a wheel you should be fine for daily use and abuse

Absolutely 100 percent false. You could not be more wrong if you tried.

They may look the same, but the process to make these wheels are very different. Factory wheels are much stronger. The aluminum and the process to make them so much more stringent than these cheap knock offs.

There is a reason why the cost on these and good aftermarket wheels are so much higher. There are youtube videos on different casting techniques that will show you how a good wheel is built and how bad wheels are built.

low pressure cast is a low pressure cast aren't they though? I've youtubed it a bit before but never really got into it, not saying the replicas are better or the same quality but im sure some replicas aren't too far off.. Maybe im a bit basis due to my OEM rims cracked easy and my vorstiners cracked too but my cheaper cast rims have held up longer then the 2 others have

although again whats cheap? like $100-200 a rim or? I'm just wondering because ive seen "niche" wheels for $1600-1700 but most cast replicas i looked at where $2k+ .. im just curious

Low pressure casting can vary much like forging. Different materials, different hardness, everything matters.
The fact that you have had these other wheels cracked tells me that if you had replicas, you might not be with us today.
I have seen the results of a replica wheel explode while driving. I also have never seen a replica wheel that was TUV rated which all manufacturing wheels are.
The things that spin and keep you going on the road at speed are not the things I would cheap out on. Never buy used tires and never buy replica wheels.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
It's just too bad no companies make steel rims for this type of cars or I would have bought a set without a second thought for winter use--no worry about cracking, exploding, bending, re-torqing, etc.

I also got a set of 18" Replika's recently for winter tires and they're fantastic. Hubcentric, perfect fit, use oem bolts, and supposedly meets JWL and VIA standards.

I have replica 19" multispokes that have been on my car for over a year. No issues. You can find 507 replicas on ebay. You can buy TPMS for $35 each on Amazon as well - not the $100 each or whatever these places charge.

People act like replicas are deathtraps waiting to snap and send your car hurting into oncoming traffic...feel free to google cracked ADV or BBS to see what safety margins boutique wheels have as well.

I think there's a difference between replica and counterfeit. I've seen pics of multispokes that were made to look like real OEM made in Germany ones, but were obvious fakes (like the video above). These I could see being wary of. The companies that sell replicas are selling wheels "in the style" of the OEM wheels. No fake part numbers or anything.

Would these sizes fit my car?

19x8.0 / 19x9.0 5x112 ET45

Would I be able to do a 275 width rear tire and 245 front? I am terrible with wheel math.

Also I do not know what TPMS sensors I will need to search for that work on this car without spending $100 per.

They will fit your car if you are not lowered. Particularly for the back.
Otherwise you'll have to go 265 wide tires.
As for TPMS ebay is your best source or the classified section. Part # A000 905 72 00

With 265 will there be no stretch? I am trying to avoid that at all costs? I dont plan on lowering yet but just want to confirm

Thanks for the part number!
