I was going up an on ramp tonight. Switched into sports plus to get around traffic. When I got on it my 63 just died when it dropped gears. The motor light under my rpm gauge came on. I pulled over to the side of the highway and my shifter was shaking. I thought I blew a gear. I turned it off and sat for a second nowhere near my house. Turned it back on and drove it home with no issues and no engine light. Has anyone had this happen? Thoughts? Thanks

I have had the car go into limp mode twice when doing WOT acceleration merging onto the highway. restarting the engine no issue and kept driving. both of these were after my tune but not sure if its related. it is also possible the car was not fully warm but again i am not sure if these were related. not sure if it matches your issue but sounds similar.

I had been cruising for about 25 minutes so I know she was warm. What tune do you have in yours?

the car also shifts pretty hard in S+ mode when accelerating hard but im not sure if its related to the tune

Bren Tuning puts out great stuff.

How many miles on your car? Tranny fluid been changed recently? One of those things that sometimes goes overlooked and really will make a difference, especially if the fluid is old.

OP -- sounds like one of those fluke things that can happen. I'd scan your car and see if any CELs were logged. Was there any indication there was a problem or did you hammer it and it immediate shut of? Or, did you hammer it, then the car shook, then shut off?

happens weekly for me, no idea why..replaced the pumps/fuel rail/pretty much everything to do with the fuel system and it'll still spit out a "low fuel rail pressure" code then idle/run like a$$ usually in 4th gear around 4-5k RPM ..its usually when its still cold though and rarely does it once the engine is warmed up

Mine is a 2012 with 53k miles on it. Only had it a month. I will check fluid levels in the morning. Maybe go to MB Wednesday to see when the trans fluid was done if at all.

Just be ready, it isn't "cheap" at a dealer. However, it really wouldn't hurt to give the car a thorough top to bottom at 53k miles. Especially if it's just shutting down on you.

How fast were you going when you switched to S+? I know my car didn't like it once when I changed from C to S+ when going too fast...but it was also still in the warm up phase.

Is it cold out where you are? I am learning that the transmission (MCT) gets a little wonky in cold weather. Shuddering when creeping from a stop, cold shifts are jerky at first, etc. Nothing too crazy just saying. Doesnt bother me but something to think about. I had the trans service done at 21k miles Im at 24k right now.
