E63 W212 wheel fitment to a C63
Thanks to all for the help on exploring the possible use of 18" E63 wheels from a W212.

I was looking for some cheap but strong wheels for track tires. These are are 9x18 ET37 up front and 9.5x18 ET52 in back, allowing me to run a wider tire both front and rear. After getting some great guidance here on the forum, I found a set at a price that made it worth experimenting.
Difference is subtle - Design is similar to ours, but a little more concave
When I first mounted them up I was a little worried . . .
I'm pleased to report that it worked great. They fill out the wheelwells nicely and allowed me room to mount a 255 up front and a 275 in the back. These are R888's
I've not had four people in the car to check for rubbing, but I've had a track day with them and didn't hear any rubbing at all. When I pulled them afterwards, there was one small rub mark on the right rear wheelwell liner. The liner is a flexible plastic material and not rigidly mounted, so it's not a concern. Caliper clearance is huge. Rear suspension has great wheel clearance but the tire clearance is paper-thin - no way to squeeze a 285 in here.
I'm quite pleased with the fit and the look. Big thanks to Diabolis and Roswell for all the great input!

Just realized that I forgot to post tire size. Front is 255/35-18, rear is 275/35-18. They fill up the wheelwells nicely.
