Brake Pads!
Hey guys! I have a 2013 C63 Sedan with p31 package. I have just reached 12.5k miles and its time for me to replace my brake pads (4mm left). It is my daily driver, but I want to take it to a 2-4 track days this year. Do you guys have any recommendations for brake pads besides the OEM?

The Porterfields are decent street pads but they do fade and will burn up after even light track use on a C63. Endless MX-72 is the best pad I've ever used that's decent on the track (even with R-comps) yet driveable on the street if you don't want to swap pads for track days. Not cheap but IMHO well worth the premium.

And how many of you gentlemen suggesting Porterfields have actually tracked your car (on a road circuit - not making a single 1/4 mile run)?

I have. I just put another set of new Porterfield R4S's up front getting ready for a 3 day event at CoTA later this month. The rears were at half life so I left them in and I'll save the new ones for later.
I typically run on two different tracks. CoTA is long and flowing and not too hard on brakes. A lot of brake zones are light braking. Turns 1, 11, 12, & 20 definitely hard braking.
The other track has lots of hard acceleration and then hard braking. Not much in the way of light to medium braking. This track has 11 corners, so lap after lap the brakes don't get much rest.
My experience with P R4S's are that they don't burn up, nor do they wear out too quickly. I am quite pleased with them and I can trust them to bring me down from 150+ mph to ~40 mph in 250 ft every lap of a 30 minute session.
This is my second set of these pads. Your review of the MX-72's have me intrigued to try those next time. But that means I won't have a comparison review to post for over a year

I use Porsche rotors on both the street and track P-cars (they are made by Zimmerman but the Zimmermanns don't last as long - probably different material). Pads are Hawk HP+ on the street car and Pagid Yellow RS29s front and RS19s rear on the track rat. Not drilled and not slotted - those are 99.99% for show - but with brake cooling ducts to the fronts.

I put Portfields R4-s all round on my C63 Coupe PP yesterday. So far so good.
Thanks to everyone on the forum for your help.

My experience is that for track use they're about as good as the OEM pads at best. They will withstand one track day, but they're not great in terms of bite / modulation, and will get thoroughly cooked from overheating and simply fall apart in short order. YMMV of course... and it certainly depends on the track itself and in no small part the driver.

Don't think I have EVER been accused of being smooth with the left pedal or gentle on the brakes lol. Im on em like an Xmas shopper who's been around the block 6 times and suddenly sees an empty space
