New tyres for my 2012 C63 AMG

I need some new summer tyres and have been doing some digging round.
I live in the UK so the weather is always up and down and I've been told the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 are a great tyre.
Now are 275/35/18 a good size choice for the rear along with 245/40/18 for the front?
Any advice is welcome

MPSS are great tyres.

275 may be a bit too wide for rears. 265 usually if you want to improve traction and grip. Best to keep to 235 for fronts.

Or you can try Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics 2. Equally as good but wears a bit quicker, just a tad.

I'm wondering why people can't read the other 7 threads about tires on the first page lol.

MPSS +1.

Our cars understeer badly enough already. Increasing the rears more than the front will exacerbate that problem. I'd suggest 245 and 265 widths, which many people run quite successfully.

You can trail brake and throttle out of understeer on these cars much better than you can many others due to the abundance of torque on hand with this engine.
Technically it is not hard to do with some practice, but it makes the car very controllable in and out of a corner then just diving in and trying to make it out.
But I agree with 245-265s as the go to size.

Thanks, think I'll go with 265 for the rear and 245 for the front and Mitchelin Pilot Sport 4

An interesting choice - I didn't know these even existed. Neither of the major US online retailers lists them, so they may not be available in the states yet.

From Michelin's web site:
Launching initially in 17" and 18" at the start of 2016, with 19" due later in 2016 and early 2017, expect the new Michelin Pilot sport 4 to perform extremely well in the group tests this year.

As for the fate of the much loved Pilot Super Sport? This tyre will continue to sit above the Pilot Sport 4, catering to those of us who want an even higher level of performance in 19 inches and above.

Having 18" the pilot sport 4 are the best choice, and they are available here in the UK

Do you not see a bit more undesirable performance for a road course application going to these widths on the factory 8" wide front and 9" wide rear wheels? Tread and sidewalls stay happy?

Well I am not running factory 8 and 9 inch wheels so that's a non issue. If you go wider obviously you would want different wheels from the stock ones. I am running 19s with a set of Trofeo R's and I like the combination.
