Anyone had this done yet? Got my appt scheduled for this Friday.
Anyone know what all is removed from the interior during the replacement?
Edit...carpet, console, seats are removed

I believe the SRS module is under the cup holders area. If logic serves, they are upgrading the module bc some people experienced failure from beverage spills.

I had this done couple days ago at my local dealership. Dropped the car off in the morning, got it back late afternoon. Yes, the module is under the center console so they basically take it apart and replace some wires and a few other components in there. Pretty straight forward.

Thanks guys.
I was kinda hoping they had to remove the entertainment system out of the way. I was going to have them upgrade my AUX cable while in there.

I am sure that it is and I will probably do it later on. I was checking to see if they had to remove it and if so I was just going to have them plug it in while they were there

My car came with the iPhone 30 pin connector, I am wanting to update it to a newer cable with the 3.5 mm Jack and possibly a USB port

I'm sure you know your car better than me, but if you have an iPod integration kit, that box may be located in the panel accessible from the right outer side of the dash (I know some were installed behind the glove box as instead). If so, you can swap the cable there. FYI.
Edit.. Curiosity got the best of me so I just walked out to the car and popped the cover off and you are right, the media cable plugs into a box there on the passenger side. I assumed it wrapped around to the head unit.
On another positive note, the 3.5mm Jack is hidden in there as well. Looks like a project this weekend. Need to find my drill bit now so I can move it to the glove box as well

Mine was completed last week. It's a 2-3 hour job.
Hard for me to see that anything was taken apart so it looks as though the tech did a good job.

The center console and a couple of vents are all that are removed. The control unit is actually under the dash in front of the center console. Right now I see up to MY 2009 on the W204's. Should possibly be seeing a second recall for the steering wheel airbag soon which shows in my VMI.
