W205 Did Not Feel Solid

So I recently test drove the new 2016 W205 and all I can say is I am not impressed. The car was wicked quick, don't get me wrong. The immediate torque was awesome but the top end seamed lacking. I do like the styling, it is starting to grow on me.

However one thing really made me step back and question the car. The feel and quality. I know that we are going towards better fuel and lighter cars but it felt like a tin can. The doors felt like the Ford rental sedan I had last week, the road feel also was hollow.

The car felt cheap, sounded cheap inside as well. I took the CLA for a spin and again same kind of experience.

The cars look awesome but compared to last gen I am not sold.

Anyone else experience this or am I crazy?

W205 = MEH!

When the 204 came out, it was a brute and turned heads with aggressive styling and noise..

Yeah, I rented a W205 C300 for a week in LA while I was out there for work in Feb. Wanted to try it out and see if I generally liked it or not. Agree that it felt cheap. Hated the interior, and how all the gloss plasticy bits around the console were smudged and swirled up so easily. Hated the driving position too, felt weird for some reason. Hated the menu that I had to constantly fiddle with in order to get it in the driving modes I wanted.

Waiting for the C63 coupe. The styling is more my speed, and I'm sure that thing will go like snot. I'm pretty committed to staying in my W204 at least until they either facelift the new car or come out with a BS version.

I owned a W205 C63s for a few months..... various build quality issues, and a problematic sqeaky dash sent me back to the W204.

I had a rattle in the dash in my 09 c63...still there but better...it's a common issue. All the cars have their own unique issues

A salesman buddy of mine got me in a w205 c63 in hopes of making a sale... And I think the car is great, I like the styling, and I love the interior.... Quality not sure if I'd say it's worse or better than the 204..... But it's just a different car and a different feel than the 204 it feels less special to me for whatever reason.... Makes me feel how I felt driving my w203 c32 ... It's fast and comfortable but it feels less special like if you aren't driving it hard it's just another car... I think the styling is less aggressive and the driving experience is too....in my opinion

Don't test drive a new C300. I had one as a loner. Lot's of engine noise and vibration. I'm convinced that no one can make a truly smooth running V6.
