Renntech tune for 507 edition
Renntech has recently released a tune for the 507 and I was wondering if anyone has purchased it. It seems pricy but is supposed to give appr. 70hp.

you are right i do not have enough knowledge to evaluate everything out there , that's why i rely on people who have it . mr dinan has that , not only does he have knowledge he also has a lot of experience and credentials to back it up . his racing pedigree is of public knowledge and impressive enough for me .

His opinion is not relevant here when you're dealing with a factory de-tuned engine

I'll admit that I bit and watched the Steve Dinan video.
I find it very hard to swallow his (Steve at Dinan) statement that tunes on N/A applications make absolutely no difference and effectively call all tune companies liars. Taking the c63 as an example, from the factory there are effectively 3 (4 if you count Black series but i wont as there are also some hardware changes) variants of the same model hardware-wise making all different hp, and the only difference to my knowledge is the tune.
Disregarding the concept of (gasp) an aftermarket company enhancing an existing stock tune for a moment, in our example, a company can come along and just mimic the 507 tune and apply it to a non p-31 and see huge increases with an "off the shelf" tune, so that kills his argument immediately.
Then take into consideration an aftermarket company creating a more aggressive tune that for longevity reasons and warranty and risk of loss in revenue for covered repairs the risk department at the automaker wasn't prepared to make, and then pair that with his explanation of Dinan's origin and how they made their cars better by adjusting the timing by trial and error to create a better curve and he's saying other "off the shelf" tunes can't do the same thing?
**looking into this further, there are tuning softwares sold by dinan for the e92 (N/a) v8 M3 stating an increase in 8hp, so how can he say one thing and then his own company preach the opposite??**
But what do I know? I don't claim to have the knowledge truly needed to prove his argument true or false, i'm just using common logic and experience. If my argument above has legs, and logic to me dictates it does, then that video actually just made me lose a lot of respect for Steve and Dinan.
you dont need to click this video and give it an extra hit, but i was referencing this video, specifically the 6:30 mark
