Anyone roll race C63?
I have been messing around lately with some roll races. The paddle shift just doesn't responded fast enough. Does anyone have any tricks?

while you're counting off pick the gear that puts you right at the bottom of the power band and matt it

If you're in S+ mode and quickly blip the throttle, the TCU kicks down two gears. Blip then mash it.

This. Hold it in the gear that puts you right around 3500/4000 RPM using manual mode. Get ready to pull for the next gear quick because if you miss the shift, you'll be bumpin' uglies with that rev limiter...

I was running in sports plus, paddle shifting down into 2nd from a 40 roll. But when we would go, the paddle shift into 3rd at 6500 just wasn't smooth. Big hesitation.
In other auto cars I have had you could paddle shift to pick a gear and then when to started running you could put it back into auto mode so the car did the work without hitting the rev limiter.
Just curious if anyone had come across this?

Alternatively you could pick the gear in 'manual', and then turn the selector back to S+ when racing.
I just keep it in S+ and hammer the throttle when you want to go fast.

I've found that there is a pretty annoying delay in the time it takes for a shift to respond, but the actual shift takes place very quickly. I've just learned to pull the paddle a little bit sooner than normal. Once it actually shifts, it changes gears very fast and there's virtually no time lost. S+ works really well though, so if you're actually racing that's probably the fastest option.

Let the car shift for you. Put in S+ mode, choose your locked gear, probably 2nd gear, right? Even though it's locked in 2nd gear, it will continue to upshift once it hits redline.
You don't need to upshift in S+ mode. It'll do it automatically once you hit redline. Otherwise, it'll hold the gear if you don't hit the redline.

In S or S+ the car shifts for itself when the gear is selected. Manual mode does not move up or down unless the driver chooses.
When I did roll races at No Fly Zone (agreed 40mph rolls)
Turn off all traction controls
Shift into S (S+ if you're 2012+)
Paddle down to 2nd
Mash the gas at the cone and let the car do the work.

I've only had the car a month, but this does the trick for me. I am sure there are other ways ... for me, this tranny is light years ahead of the E55 tranny I'm used to and feels lighting fast in comparison

I did a few test hits today. Put in S+, paddle to the gear you want to hold and smash on it. It worked great. Pulls felt good. Thanks guys for the feed back
