Exhaust valves
Hi, just wondering the best way to keep the exhaust valves open? Is it a specialist job or easy? Have googled loads but can't seem to come up with any help!! Many thanks, Simon

Exhaust valves
Hi mate, sorry, just trying to make the car louder, I understand there is valves/baffles in the exhaust which can be permanently opened to create a louder sound?

Ahhh right, phew. That makes more sense then. I thought you meant you wanted the valves in the cylinder heads held open and I was squirming to work out why, haha.
Unless it's something about the W204 that I don't know about, I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have a stock valved exhaust. People pay grand theft money for valved aftermarket ones.
IMO your best bet will be to remove the secondary cats for more sound (leave the silencers in by the exhaust tips) or if you really want to scare small children upon cold starts, remove all of the cats. FML it becomes extremely loud though. Like...woah! I'd hate to imagine what a totally straight through exhaust system would sound like...probably horrid.

This I'm not sure on sir (mine is an E Class with a different exhaust to yours).
I'm sure one of the W204 experts will be on hand shortly.
For their reference, are you from the USA, UK, or...?

Ahhh awesome!
If you're from the North (ie, around the Midlands) try giving MSL a call - I hear they're excellent.
If you're from the South (ie, London-ish) then try giving Eurocharged UK a call - they've done like a million C63's.

You won't have any problems at all passing emissions test. Removing the secondary cats doesn't mess with the o2 sensor so no need to worry. No lights/codes anything will be thrown.

I wouldn't, it will add a raspyness to the sound..some like it, I think it sounds like sh*t. Start with the secondary first, if not loud enough then remove the resonator.

To be completely honest, if your into sports cars or performance cars what so ever, you'll find that removing both of those components still delivers underwhelming loudness. Except for cold start - the thing is nuts at cold start lol

Just to provide another point of view because that's what forums are all about -- I removed my resonator and secondary cats and replaced the resonated section with an H-pipe and have zero and I truly mean ZERO rasp.

True story - I wonder if the raspyness you've heard/described changes with straight vs. h pipe? I will admit, I've only run it with an H so cannot attest to no rasp with pure straight pipes.
