Strapped on DWS06s ...235/265 ...outstanding tires!
I went back and forth on what tires to get given my driving style and the fact that I don't track the car - instead of the popular MPSS, I wanted to try something else so I opted for Continentals. The DWS didn't have as great of treadwear and the reviews for the DWS06s were great so I bit the bullet and ordered a 235/265 setup on stock wheels. They're all-seasons, but treadlife and dry traction are main factors - and given how quiet the reviews said these tires are along with the decent price, I wanted to give them a shot.
The dry grip on these tires are excellent! They are not MPSS excellent, but very, very close. The sidewall is a little soft, but again, I drive this car here and there on nice weather days/weekends - I don't track etc. These are exceptionally quiet tires as well, I am impressed. The previous tires were MP AS3s and they were loud (maybe because they were on the last run of tread but still loud tires and somewhat hard). Turn in is a little soft, but straight line dry grip acceleration is my focus with tires.
I do not drive the car in rain/snow, which is the main selling point for these tires - the tread styling is unique looks great on the car as well.
I wanted to put the Nitto Invos as I had those tires on my E55 and they were superb, but glad I tried these Contis.
Overall, extremely happy with the decision. With 540 AA A and a 50K warranty, it was a no brainer and I highly recommend these tires.

I have 255/285 DWS06s on my E550 Coupe and agree these are excellent tires!

Had the old model on my S550 and my wife's CLS has them as well. Very good traction for an all season. and will get you home in first snow or two.
Looking to get a C63 for DD and was wondering if they could handle the 6.3. Thanks for the info.

So if you want cheap, quiet tires with soft sidewalls, mediocre traction and mushy turn-in, these are an outstanding choice . . .
any why exactly did you buy a C63? Seems like something more laid back (another E class?) might have been a better choice.
Not flaming - one of the great things about this forum is the diversity of opinion - just not understanding.

I wasn't sold on the thread pattern either but it has grown on me. The Hankook V12s tread pattern is far superior
We had a sunny day today and I tried them on a harder launch and a slow (20mph) roll - without having an LSD, I am very impressed with these puppies.
For me, this is was an easy choice given what I want from tires. Highly recommend them for the DDs and definitely for people that like to do some spirited runs here and there. I may pick up some Nittos just for kicks to do a comparison to these

So because he bought a C63 and put on DWS06 - that are awesome tires, had them on my older S65 , E55 as well as the C63 - you are asking why he bought a C63? You're an idiot dude.
What are you not understanding? Great price, excellent tread wear, great dry traction, TOP wet/snow traction, and you are questioning why he bought the tires?
You know ... not everyone tracks their car and need R-comps and not everyone has roads with smooth twisties and zero traffic to care about turn in .... get real.

Even on all season tires C63 will still drive and feel tons better than most cars on the road. Even if it has tires that dont have as good of performance as Supper Sport it still is a good drive. Nor everyone wants to push the car to its limits.
Im still on my winter tires on the carrera because its cold around here and keeps snowing (chicago) and even on winter tires its a joy to drive and handles very well.
