Tire Advice
So please keep this flame free...I need some quick advice and I realize this horse has already been beaten to death many many times.
I need new tires. I have stock 18" wheels and am thinking to upsize from 235/40 and 255/35 to 245/40 and 265/35 Michelin PSS. I am just hoping to get a quick confirmation that this size will a. fit and b. not cause handling/stability issues. Also, I see that some codes are Z rated and some are not...should I request Z rated?
Anyone have advice on this that they would like to share?

Totally fine. All other things being equal, get Z-rated if you plan on driving over 149mph. Generally speaking though, many of the tires you're going to be looking at will be anyway.

This may sound strange, but some "wider" tires do NOT have a larger footprint.
There are some tires where upsizing does not increase the "width of tread" touching the ground... look for that spec to be sure you are getting the gain you want.

They'll fit fine and you won't bugger anything up. The speedo will be off slightly - it will show a slightly lower speed than actual - but not by a significant percentage to get you in trouble with the local constabulary.
