CEL P0171 - System Too Lean Bank 1
First CEL popped up today.
Tried clearing the code but it wouldn't go away.
Noticed a hissing sound when I turned off the car. Popped the hood with the engine running and the hissing sound was also present...
Hose running to intake manifold is cracked. The nipple it attaches to is also cracking along the edges.... (See pic)
Does this mean a new intake manifold is in order?

That's the hose that is cracked.
The nipple where that connects has cracks around it.
I am going to replace that hose and use some JB Weld along the edges of the nipple.

If that cracked nipple is leaking, then you will either need a new IM (bc MB doesn't sell those parts separately), or find a used one and swap the parts, or JB Weld.

Address those possible leaks and clean your MAF sensors. I had that CEL come up last year on my 2010 C63 I had at the time and once I cleaned the MAF sensors I was able to clear the code and it never came back. Otherwise you my need to replace the MAF sensors.....
Good luck!

Gentlemen,
It is that hose that was leaking.. I replaced it this morning with a generic hose from a hardware store. Measured it, cut it and fit it in perfectly.
I will have to JB Weld along the edges of that nipple, however.
CEL is gone.
