Wrapped my roof

It's a 10' job. Some bubbles I couldn't get out. But not too bad for $20.00 off eBay. We will see how it lasts.

Congrats on the DIY. If you're happy with it that's what matters! Personally I'm not a fan of wrapped/ blacked out roofs.

I wrapped it to see if I liked it. It's definitely temporary.

Actually, if your thinking about going with a black roof now that you've seen it, I'd argue not to have it painted unless your going with matte black.

Gloss black, as we all know, swirls and marrs, like crazy. I can't even image the number of times you'd have to paint correct a gloss block roof in a year to keep it defect free.

In my opinion, the best route would be to have someone professionally wrap it with a vinyl of your choice. They;ll remove all of the bubbles and deliver a job that looks just as OEM as a painted roof, but at the fraction of the cost and with the ability to pull it off should you scratch, swirl, or marr the vinyl.

Waking up today and looking at it. All the bubbles are gone. There's 1 area on the trim I could have cut it better but it looks good. I'll roll with it for a while. Maybe peel it off and try a different color. $18.88 shipped and 1.5 hours of my time isn't a big deal.

Oh yeah for sure. Roll with it to make sure you like it etc. I can image around the antenna being quite tricky right?

Actually not too bad. It has that rubber seal you can tuck it under. The hardest part was around the back edge of the sunroof. The edge wraps down inside below the glass. I had to leave an extra 1/4" so I could fold it down on the back side to make the white not show.

Cut a circle and heated up the wrap and pressed it down until it was tight against the roof the started making small cuts until I could press under the rubber.

I think it looks cool. Maybe you should start a side business. Jk.

Great job, definitely a good way to test out if you are going to like something or not. Inexpensive and not too time consuming .

Yeah. After today I am thinking of trying matt/flat black to see if that looks better. I think this high gloss will scratch too easy.
