Takata recall hurting trade in value???
So I won't get into my own economics but I'm having a hard time trading in my car, dealers are telling me they cannot legally sell my car and can only auction it, I've been offered a mere 20k for my 2010 c63 they state the reason is due to the recall, they would not budge an ounce. Anybody experience this?

No not the module that has been done, the Takata is for the actual airbags itself, there's no solution for it yet, if you check your vin on the MB recall site it will say that the recall is incomplete due to no solution. This recall affects millions

Punched my CDN VIN into https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/recall Maybe no records because it wasn't fully recognized.

From another forum:
"I was just in the process of closing a deal on an E92 when BMW announced this. The BMW dealer said they cant sell any of the affected cars until they're fixed and I was wondering if this is true"
"It is true and it's unbelievable. They also told me not to sell mine to a private party until it's fixed."
-----------
"Well my 2013 E92 M3 is affected. I inquired about buying out the car at the end of the lease which is 31 July 2016 and they told me they can't allow me to do this as my car was flagged, transferred me to a supervisor and they told me that my car was affected by the Takata airbag recall."
-----------
"Almost every single one of our used cars here at Acura is affected by the recall as well. We now have no used cars we can sell. Sucks, but that's how it is."
-----------
"I can confirm this, as I was also told this past weekend BMW will not buy back any affected cars until the recall is done. I was also told they don't expect parts in for up to 9 months. Now, if all of this is true, BMWNA is truly f*cked, because all they're going to be able to work is lease-returns. I was ready to walk out with an M235i this past weekend, and my dealer told me no dice. For their sake, I hope these parts get in quickly."
-----------
"Found out about this randomly at my dealer yesterday when I had my 2013 X1 in. They certainly didn't explain the extent of what the airbag could do to me. I read that later at home... It was more an FYI of hey you won't be able to trade this in until it's done. And I said fine I'm not trading it for 2 years when it will be 5 and they said they don't anticipate having parts by then! No mention of a loaner....
I'm more concerned about having a car that's worthless until it can get fixed but there's no timeframe on when it will get fixed. The more I learn the more I don't like this at all."
