Track Day Protection

Track Day Protection
I've tracked my car a few times, but one day at COTA showed actual wear on the rear quarter panel, pic attached.
When I wrapped the front of my car in xpel, the guy didn't go around the edges, so the area getting sandblasted isn't actually protected. What solution have you guys found? I saw someone with a w205 at the track use tons of painters tape, and maybe I could find someone to do a custom xpel job. What do you all suggest?
NOTE: This image is after clay baring. Luckily, you'd never notice if you didn't bend down beneath the car.

Blue 3M painters tape is the best. Only because it's not like you track everyday and its easily applied and removed. I see people doing their headlight glass...

I received an email a few days ago saying the Texas Trifecta (mid-June, 3 day event) is open to Novice drivers. Not sure if that was available the last time I provided their link to you in another thread.

I'm still considering the Texas Trifecta. I don't want an instructor, and I'm cool with point by passing or respectful passing (not race conditions). I just don't want to be stuck behind people who don't point by for half a lap. Which group do you think that would be with this event? Intermediate or Advanced/Solo?

Typically, most folks at CoTa are pretty good at giving point by's. Those who don't, don't fall into a single particular run group.
From what I have seen, it is the event organizers that place you into a run group. I have never picked my own group. If you choose to sign up then you can discuss with them your preference and see what they say.
Having an instructor isn't a bad thing. They won't slow you down - and may even help to speed you up some. I had to put my time in Novice (w/instructor), then Intermediate (solo), then advanced. It's a natural progression that serves good purpose.
Hope to see you out there!

Just registered for Friday!
To be clear, I'd love a good, free instructor. Also, I certainly welcome a "ride check" for all of us who are new to their system to make sure we're not going to endanger anyone.
