Who here drives the C63 year round? Winter beater.
Greetings from the great white north!
i live in Alberta, Canada and we have some ferocious winters. Snow storms, temperatures hitting -40c, over all just a nasty place for a vehicle.
i had an Audi A5 before this car and it was an absolute champion in the snow.
my main concern is traction. i will be planning on buying studded winter tires. (HAkkapuletta 8)
do any of you guys drive your cars in the winter? how do they perform?
i heard the BMW m3 doesnt like winter because of the high compression engine.
does the Merc struggle? or is my only concern going to be paintwork getting chipped up.
any info appreciated

It's a C-Class not a Ferrari. Drive the bish lol.
It's fun in the snow but it does start to get frustrating when it's nearing the end of the winter season and you can't put any power down yet.
You have the pimple faced kid in moms camry at the light in the lane that ends and you have to let him get by you...

Do not, I repeat, do not drive your car in the winter with out getting 3m or Xpel clear bra over the entire front end, a pillars, roof and mirrors -- especially if you're in Alberta, Sask etc... I just had my entire front end and hood repainted because it looked like someone took a shot gun with rock salt and fired it at my car. Better yet, get a second vehicle -- a beater -- and drive that in the winter..

I drive mine in snow and all-season tires. I have a beater if it gets too sketchy, but I didn't use it last winter. I can also work from home so I don't have to drive in bad weather, but a couple inches of snow doesn't prevent me from driving it. I just make sure to keep it washed regularly.

No issues at all with traction/handling in the winter. A gentle right foot goes a long way.
There was 2 days I drove my Jeep to work, mainly because of the forecast for a fair bit of snow.
The front of the car has 3M treatment.
The main issue is the windshield Will need to replace mine this summer.

i dont drive mine in the winter, but with the right set of tires and maybe some anti corrosion coating underneath the vehicle im sure it would do just fine in comfort mode

i live in B.C. in surrey and it mostly rains here but snows a bunch too and i gotta say my 2010 C63 AMG is HORRENDUS in the snow lol. Sometimes i cant even make it up a 2 inch incline too get into my condos underground parking. Dunno what tires i have but they are the tires MB always gives me and says they are the top ones. Contential's and like $400 a tire. They might not be all weather.

I driver her all year, real nice during the winter months.
Here in Finland we learn how to drive on ice when we are young and now driving with the 63 in the winter is childs play. Not to mention how awesome the thing is to drift all winter. It handles the -22 fahrenheit weather like a champ. I would not have it any other way.

Picture above made me smile...
I drove mine yearly. In DC, obviously we don't have as much snow, but we have gravelly roads (I mean roads under constant construction).. The car handles fine in Snow, even with all seasons (I had the Conti DWS all seasons).
Honestly, if the conditions are that bad, you should not be driving so close to the person in front of you that the salt and what not kicked up by the vehicle should be an issue to your hood. The bigger issue is the wheel fenders, your own tires kicking up the salt and stuff. For that, 3M clear bra over the fender area, or better mud flaps.. I have actually seen people use painters tape as well.

I always restrained myself of buying a c63 because of the ****ty winters we have in Quebec, I don't have the budget to have a supercar in the summer and a great car for the winter. (I don't want to drive a POS for winter).
You guys are messing up with my mind lol. Theres a gorgeous white 2013 C63 with 33k miles on sale at my local dealer. I'm gonna end up buying it and drive it all season long if I continue checking this thread.

I drive it year round. I put blizzacks winters on it. Drives great with no issues. The people that have problems in the winter try to cheap out and buy all seasons or don't understand tire compound and use summers in the winter 😫

MY main concern is now paint and body.
my car is older (2009) but it has never seen snow and it looks incredible for the age.
my audi every winter it looked worse and worse....
dont wanna do that to the merc!
also dont wanna drive a POS beater for longer then i drive a nice car (C63)
might look into a wrap or some sort of clear protectin

The C63 with any good set of winter tires will do fine in the snow. It's all the crap on the roads and idiot drivers who don't have winter tires, that gets me worried.
I lease a cheap car to drive around in the winter. It has all the amenities of a modern vehicle, but cheap enough that I can leave it parked during the summer.

Most AMG, Bimmer M, Audi S, and even most Ferrari & Lambo's are mostly mass produced cars that will never become a collector's car. So just drive it and enjoy it.
