Seats are kiling me.
Hey everybody. I looked around and could not find anyone with the same issue I am having with the car, and it's not really the car, it's me. My seats are very narrow in the top half where my shoulders are. I am sort of a big guy thickness wise and the seat bolsters are cutting off circulation in my right arm sometimes.
The bolsters hit right in the wrong place on both sides. I had them measured and need another 3 inches per side stretched out.
I am 5-10 235lbs and have stupidly wide shoulders that are more problematic with these seats. My question is, is there a fix for this or a different Merc seat that might help?
I have not spoken to my interior guy who built my Camaro to see if he can fix it, but I was hoping to keep the car stock looking as best I can. I don't know if they make sport seats for this car that would work with electronics of the current seat.
Thanks in advance guys.

Not sure if replacing the seat will work with lets say another merc model. It would have to fit in the area so still has space between the center console. Maybe looking into a regular C class seat of the same year. same width, same track, most likely, same connections without the side bolsters. The other option is to have the seat completely redone at the top part of it, to widen the top part. I'm sure either way will be costly in any sort of way.
You can always get down to 185, I'm 5'10" as well and fit in there just nice. lol

I know a couple members have replaced their seats with Recaro or something similar but I think that is a bit drastic. Those are a couple of threads I found that seemed to be related a bit.

I have not been 185 since my junior year of high school.

Wonder if the non-sport seat in the w205 could work.
You really don't have an inexpensive option here.

Have you tried adjusting the seat back any to see a difference? Reason I ask is that I am 5'11 and was at 223 lbs. The bolsters are no where close to impacting my shoulders. My love handles yeah, but not my upper body.
I mean yeah the seats are tight but there could be a seat position issue here. Are you one of those guys that leans the seat back like a recliner when you drive?

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I normally have a very strict seating position and can maneuver a little for comfort, but try to maintain in a fairly up-right position.
Funny enough I test drove a 14 Porsche GT3 today and those seats seem way better. I took photos of the seats and they are of course a much more aggressive type of seat, but the new ones have large spans as do the Black series types. I am wondering if I should try and find a set of those for the car.

Mazspeed, did you end up modifying the seat or getting a new seat? I am having similar issues with how narrow the upper part of the seat is. Like you said it's not even the side bolsters it's more the top. Really seems to pinch in at the shoulder. I have some upper back issues from other things to start but the seats aren't helping. I am 6'1 185 with maybe a little wider shoulders but I am surprised more people don't have issues haha. Maybe it's just my bad back.

I'm surprised that anyone has issues because I fit fine... I'd imagine replacing the seats would trip all sorts of airbag lights unless you found some that were directly compatible. Or wired in a resistor somewhere?

I have an interior guy who built up my Camaro's interior, he said he could fix it, so a good interior guy could help as well.

It's not posture. I'm just really wide in the shoulders and that has possed a problem with race seats in the past so it's not new to me. Leaning back in your seat is leaning back in your seat. Posture is a non-issue.
