CoTA footage @ BMW event
This weekend was the 4th annual Texas Trifecta at CoTA, sponsored by the BMWCCA. Lots of E46's, E9X's, and F8X's, and of course just enough P GT3's to remind us what a fast car looks like.
Out of the 9 days of events I have participated in at CoTA, this is my first hot summer day there and it didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I figured I'd be safe from limp mode for the two morning sessions and then see how things went for the afternoon sessions. I first limped in the second morning session and in each of the afternoon sessions. Short shifting helped just a little but not enough.
When I had power I did pretty good in my run group. Otherwise, it was pass 5 bimmers, limp and get passed by 5 bimmers, get power and go pass the same 5 bimmers again. I wonder what they thought about that.
Here's some links to footage:

Awesome Clark
Where's the GoPro mounted, in the center bumper opening? Have you tried Harry's LapTimer? Great if you want laptimes and telemetry overlaid.
Also... time for the 44O package?

There was an autocross being held on property, organized by the same folks but I hadn't heard of the Lone Star Euro Fest. As far as the road course event goes I was the only AMG there. Other events have had 1, 2, maybe 3 other AMG's and they are usually SLS or GT-S. It is unfortunately pretty rare to see another C63.
The camera was mounted by suction cup on the front fascia right next to the tow hook. I clean both surfaces very well and then the suction cup seems to hold just fine. But just in case it does fall off, I put a piece of paper inside the camera housing that has my name, address and phone number on it. That way if a track worker finds it they have the option to return it to me.
I do have Harry's Lap timer but I seem to get inconsistent results at that track. Often two laps are measured as one for a 5+ minute lap. I put more effort into ensuring decent video footage but next time I'll focus on Harry's and get that straightened out.
CoTA is expensive and Texas is hot. I'm thinking I'll only sign up for Spring and Fall events in the future and skip on the aux oil cooler. Remember, I'm trying to stop modding my car
