Best bet with an 09 is to use a BT receiver in the glovebox, which will plug into that jack. I used a Blackberry music gateway but there are tons. It will need power, but in the 09 there is a lighter jack in the glovebox so you can plug a usb type charger in there.
Then it turns on whenever your car is on. The phone calls use one type of BT protocol, and the audio streaming uses another so you can connect simultaneously. When your phone rings it will pause your itunes and you can take the call over the stereo using a mike already built into the car. THere are a few threads about it. You find aux using the input column on your display. Same place you pick radio, disc etc. Just down at the very bottom and you may not see it til you scroll down.
iPhone to jack sucks. Quieter volume, sound quality iffy. BT works better, sounds better, less hassle.
