I was at a 1/2 mile drag event yesterday. It was a private event organised by a group of friends, so we had 30 cars there.
This meant we got to do lots and lots of runs.
I launched the car every time using the Race Start, and it worked like a charm.
It really gets going off the line. My car has a Wavetrac LSD, with exhaust and is tuned. I was really impressed with the Merc, it performed very well.
But towards the end of the day, i noticed that the car would sometimes bog with the Race Start, or it would spin the wheels too much.
I suspect that my transmission may just have been very hot by this stage, and it had enough of all the race starts.
Anybody else experience anything like this before.
I must still go and test it again, now that it's had a good nights sleep.

How many passes are we talking?

After continual abuse the car will get hot and not perform at peak performance until it cools down.

Lots. I lost count. Probably 15 passes.

They had laser guns taking speed, but they weren't very accurate.
Car was showing 234km/h on the digital speedo

Thats a lot. Not sure how long you were there for but that sounds like one every 15-20 minutes.
Heats gonna be an issue.

Do you recall what your water and oil temperatures looked like?

Water and oil temperatures where good.
Oil was up to 112 at times (Celsius). Water was very low 90's.

But the two temps at play here, the trans and the lsd, wouldn't show. I would think they were running hot most likely.
